Last time I checked 302 was more than 50, admittedly only just. Perhaps rosie thinks it's supposed to be 50 DD related posts? Perhaps as a gesture of 'spreading the love', DDCentral could add her. Might be a nice surprise when she logs on next.

Just to make it clear membership is voluntary and you have to request it as the thread opening post explains. Perhaps you should re-check the profile I beleive they became a member yesterday.

I think they are referring to post by ER who has been a member for a while with 300+ posts....

I wasn't really suggesting you drag people in 'screaming and kicking'. I was referring to the member since May 8th who has 302 posts who seemed unsure they qualified. Maybe as a compromise you could repost the link to Claim 'asylum'. It has rather got lost in time on the original post. I consider myself suitably chastised and am fully repentant.

This is a brilliant idea and I have been mulling some ideas on a standard of DD for loans. What I don't understand is why there is a limit of 50 posts? That basically excludes new users and long term beneficiaries of this forum who like me are either learning or find other users have got to the info before them and have not engaged in the small talk. I think part of the rationale is to stop any individual setting up an account with an agenda (borrower, lender, rep etc) to spread fake news. Also it recognises those that have engaged in and contributed to the forum rather than simply lurked. It is arbitrary though as any reasonably objective forum criteria would be.

My train of thought was that I don't mind gathering DD about loans on platforms that I'm not involved with (and therefore have no knowledge of), but are in my locality - but how would I know about them? If loans (across platforms) were grouped by area I might nip along to some of those nearby. maybe add first part of postcode to profiles and enable search? ( Won't affect me much being in France) Thanks for asking about the search facility for profile information shimself, I am not surprised at the answer you received. ProBoards definitely has it's drawbacks in terms of usability. I did however read the OP the other way around, which might not be much use to them as an individual given their low post count at the moment, although there might be ways round that (no I don't mean any kind of special exemptions). Might it be worthwhile compiling an area based list of assets (property/ possibly even business premises like garages) by location, post code, town/ city so that if members are able (I presume people travel as well as stay in their 'locations') they can check them out, even if they are not ones that they personally have any interest in. Post code information would be allowable in DDC orange, but maybe something redacted to nearest town level could go externally in the main forum with details of an assets address PM'd if someone expresses an interest?

I certainly value comments made by those able to drive by, even taking pics in some cases. This may not seem like dry DD, but is a very real check on what is happening if Platforms are sharing bluster about progress etc.

I am confused, how can there be a problem about visiting the sight and giving an update? Timmy's photo updates are priceless.

Platform t&c's typically mandate that you make no attempt to contact the borrower. MT refused permission to a forum member who had visited a loan property (although admittedly over-stepping the mark by suggesting links to the platform). Any systematic attempts to take evidence of borrowers' property sites might not be looked upon too kindly particularly if there were any sensitivites with an ongoing development.

Any systematic attempts to take evidence of borrowers' property sites might not be looked upon too kindly particularly if there were any sensitivites with an ongoing development. It's a fine line. At the time registerme tried to suggest a distinction - see: p2pindependentforum.com/post/191326/threadCan understand a platform's stance re: direct contact with a borrower (and that borrower's agents, employees, contractors, etc.) but if anyone were to tell me I couldn't take photo's of a building site from across the street, they'd get short shrift. Forum rules dictate that any displayed images mustn't make it possible to identify the specific site but unless there's, for example, an advertising hoarding with a development name / address on display, one building site looks pretty much like all the rest to the casual observer. It's just the stage of development and progress made (esp. when compared to platform updates) that's important. What's really needed is a friendly satellite operator and a few cloudless days... (such a pity services like Zoom Earth aren't "New Images Everywhere, Everyday" and the quality isn't just a little bit better - even farcically senseless platforms might start using them) ... or a network of drones criss-crossing the skies ... perhaps when Amazon start delivering by drone, they'll install cameras and leverage the info collated ... hmmn... I like your thinking, but wouldn't they get suspicious about the weekly delivery of a Maisy's Farm DVD?
