Not a contributor to TP, Trip Advisor, etc, etc. but there are plenty of offers available by folks who for a small fee will tidy up your ratings on social media as indicated by JamesFrance a few posts earlier.
Not suggesting LY would go down this route or any other platform/business but I have very little trust (apologies for any pun) in these 'independent' review sites.

Hi, I received the mail below on 20th. I assumed it had gone out to everyone but maybe only those with a Trustpilot account because the from address was lendy.co.uk <noreply.invitations@trustpilotmail.com> Dear xxxx. Thank you for investing with Lendy - The Property Platform. To improve the satisfaction of our customers, we have partnered with the online review community, Trustpilot, to collect reviews. Click here to review us on Trustpilot <snipped html list of 1-5 stars> All reviews, good, bad or otherwise will be visible immediately. Thanks for your time. Best Regards Lendy - The Property Platform
If so, then it appears that Lendy and TrustPilot have been comparing their customer databases. I wonder if they will be allowed to do that once GDPR comes in next month.
It shouldn't be a problem assuming it's covered in the Ts&Cs and Lendy haven't sold the information without your consent. It should be covered in Ts&Cs as asking a third party to get customer feedback is common practice and TrustPilot are presumably offering a service to Lendy so it's unlikely they bought user details, more likely Lendy paid them. It seems a perfectly fair service to offer, whether it is part of a conspiracy to produce positive reviews is another matter. Personally I just deleted the mail as I'm not a big fan at the moment. However, I do tend to respond to these emails and rate companies when I have a positive feeling, partly because it's just easier to write a positive review than a balanced negative one and partly because I'm happy to give them a leg-up. If this is common then it's an educated gamble requesting feedback. [As an aside I'm working on some GDPR related projects at the moment and AIUI GDPR doesn't have a massive practical impact on these kind of things (I'm not saying it won't change just that it's easily got around by amending Ts&Cs) it will be felt more in other areas e.g. biometric data and how it is stored which wasn't previously covered, storing videos of people just got a whole lot more complicated !]

Well, the average rating is on the way up, spurred on by a sudden unexpected rush of good reviews. If it keeps on going at this rate it'll be 5 stars in a month and I'll be mortgaging the house and putting it all on a field of sheds. Hallelujah !

I particularly liked this insightful review :
Great for beginners to earn good interest
Quick & easy to join, depositing funds is straight forward, low investment opportunities. A plus that the interest is added to your funds monthly but downside is there's no option to use a IFISA ( yet ? )

When I read something like that and contrast it with my own experience it simply increases my determination not to invest another penny via Lendy.

Yes, but Trustpilot is intended for people who don't have their own opinion yet (cf tripadvisor etc). Personally I always check 3 or more sources, and also look at the quantity and quality of the 'ooops sorry' replies to negative reviews, and any subsequent chit-chat ... rounding up a few dozens friends and relatives to 'love bomb' your dodgy chip shop is not beyond the capabilities of the soggiest fish fryer.

Perhaps the high starred recent reviews are from those who were investing on the platform from the beginning and withdrew everything 12 months ago? Nearly me but not quite... Wolves

I'd agree, it's always best to check the overall trend of reviews. A bad review from someone with an axe to grind is often followed by several contradictory reviews from those who have had a better experience who want to balance up the reviews. Equally an isolated glowing review is often followed by several bad ones. That's certainly the way it seems to work on tripadvisor and some of the other larger review sites.

They have clearly spent the afternoon sorting the wheat from the chaff. Plenty of responses to reviews and plenty of reviews pulled for various reasons. Yes , it would appear that some of reviews have been pulled for giving too much info about some of the recent losses and the mess surrounding them ,
Why can't potential new customers be allowed to see what is really going on here ?

Firms can report reviews that are alleged to be accusatory or defamatory, which are then automatically suspended. Of course, even if the review isn't any such thing, it then puts the onus back on the reviewer to re-submit an amended review. A good portion of those won't bother to do so, so leafing through the reviews with a red pen is time well spent for Lendy. Edit: crossed with blata - yeah, like that, that's probably not going to fly

Certainly , so if they find something they don't like even if it's true they find a way to say it contravenes Ts & Cs

Just had a quick look at the Lendy reviews on TrustPilot and note that Lendy seem to be going through the list including the older reviews and taking down anything they don't like.

But strangely have left the one saying only "Not nice service shizzle" alone. I guess it's considered an opinion, or perhaps Lendy are busy seeking legal advice as to whether 'shizzle' is defamatory. I don't think they'd be the first actually. Fo' shizzle.
