I sent an email to Lendy Support this morning, asking this about the certification: As you say "such as", I presume your list is just SOME examples of a "responsible person". Does a retired Police Officer qualify as a "responsible person"? I received a reply within half an hour (!), saying: We are happy for a retired police officer to certify the documents. Please can they detail the last station they were working from. So they don't seem quite as intractable as some people are suggesting?

I have yet to receive an email either way. Try contacting Lendy Support. I've just checked my emails and they replied to mine saying "I can confirm your account has been fully verified. Apologies if you did not receive our email." Of course I'm relieved that my account has been verified but how bizarre that me, you and others did not to have received the initial E-mail.

You are a lucky man, and it does seem to be down to pure luck whether or not an account is verified or rejected.

As long as it is certified before Brexit, it will be acceptable, but please make sure that it is certified in English. I've emailed them. Do you think I would get clarifications before the 30th?This is outrageous really.. I recently had to do a verification and I had to send a "selfie" with a number written on a piece a paper. It took a few minutes. Sending certified document by a random person is such a hassle... The onus is on R** to answer promptly to all genuine queries, yours is a genuine query. If you do not receive an answer in 48 hours, send a reminder.

I've actually got a response fairly quickly that said:
"Make sure the documents being certified are in english so our verification team are able to read your name, address..etc.." "They can be signed by a french professional"
So I'll go to the town hall of the city i'm in.

I'm sending nothing until I see some results and the possibility of a return of monies owed. I'm sure R** will come up with another way of extracting pennies from us though. I'm owed around 15 grand, lucky if I see much of it once the vultures have finished feasting on what Brookes started dining on.
**I've asked why no searches done on mine or my wife's files but as I expected, they've come back with nothing. **

Following up on my post yesterday about the speedy and useful response from the Lendy Support Team, I pushed my luck with one more question to them: When you say "Please note we cannot return documents either originals or copies", I note that you use the word "originals" there....so I presume you are happy to accept an original bank statement, to save me the hassle of having to get it certified? The very quick response was: Yes, we can accept original bank statements (uncertified) but won't be able to return them

Both my doctors and my bank won't verify identity as a matter of policy (the bank, Nationwide, would, but only if I was applying for a loan from them)
I've just emailed shoosmiths & offered to send them a scan of my driving licence & P60 & asked them if they could verify it on the DVLA website.
Trouble is, I don't know any teachers, lecturers, councillors, ministers of religion or solicitors. My dentist is 40 miles away. The only accountant I know personally is my son who is 90 miles away. My husband can't sign it as he's no longer registered with the Engineering Council since he retired.
I won't hold my breath, but will update when I get a reply. Could be interesting.
Do you think they'd let me drive to Fareham & present myself in person ? We could always nip into West Quay on the way back for some retail therapy.

The irony here is these so called “professionals” are the biggest money hungry crooks in society. Weren’t our RICS valuers also called “professionals”. What a (painful) joke.
