US seems to have seriously botched planning for testing capacity The problem I have at the moment is that because Trump is so divisive in America and largely disliked outside, it is more time consuming than it should be to be reasonably confident that what I'm reading is roughly objective. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your link - just everything about the US administration is often (but not always) biased one way or the other. As an academic of this field, the response in Italy and Iran has been very frustrating, but the issues eventually recognised followed by response of kind. The preparation, planning and response in the US at first was enraging, now I'm just exasperated. Hear no evil see no evil would be an appropriate motto.

It's good to see the UK has moved to the "Delay" phase of its planning regime. I feel it's the phase we will excel at...

These 'dark' events always bring out the best of UK humour... Apparently someone tweeted yesterday, "I bet the inventor of anti-bac wash is rubbing his hands together".

I'm using the JohnHopkins and worldmeters sites but both of these seem to give today's data only.
Anyone know of a site that tracks the data country by country showing simple graphs of how the various metrics (total, new cases, etc,) vary over time?

Nice try agent69 , but I've got friends and colleagues in Germany. If you heard the sort of messages coming out of the German government and German private/public sector organisations, then you would not be surprised by the slump demand at the flag carrier. From rumblings I've heard pre and post Corona, I'd wager Norwegian might be next on the chopping block.

Spotted this decent list of various dashboards when checking out wiseclerk ’s post above:- www.technologyreview.com/s/615330/best-worst-coronavirus-dashboards/No.7 in the list might be what you're after. It goes some way to showing the historic picture, when you run the animation, although I’m not sure you can see the underlying data:- www.healthmap.org/covid-19/?mod=article_inlinePossibly a link to the dataset bottom right of the screen, if you can make sense of it (I lost interest at that point!).

Potentially some very significant news from Italy - rumours of draconian lockdown of Lombardy region (which includes Milan) plus 11 other provinces including Venice. Currently a "draft decree" expected to be approved in the next 24 hours. No entry or exit will be allowed till early April.... if that means what it says the impact will be huge.
"The measures [...] will ban entering or exiting the area, and movement inside will be allowed only for “undeferrable” business or health reasons, the draft said. [...] Bars and restaurants will have to maintain a distance of at least a meter between people or will be shut. Work meetings have to be suspended. The draft specifies that failing to respect the measures is a penal offense."

I've only flown short-haul over to Warsaw with them, but yes would be sad to see them go. Quite fancied one-way tickets to Rio/Buenos Aires..
