I used to go to manufacturing conferences and people would whine about how slowly the tea was given out. still, I've been to some conferences where the tea, and which selection of biscuits you got, was the most interesting thing. So I can have some sympathy.

Laurence Fox has Covid, a couple of days after posting a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt that read: “No vaccine needed. I have an immune system.” The Guardian.
Piers Corbyn next?

At my daughter's first jab appointment, the guy in front of her in the queue got to the reception desk and in an increasingly jovial and apologetic conversation admitted that he didn't have his letter to prove he was eligible, he didn't have his appointment details, he didn't know his NI number, and hadn't brought any identification, unfortunately he had left everything in his car which he'd lent to his son. My daughter listening to the discussion (and trying not to laugh) was sure he would be turned away but he still got his jab with little delay. I am pretty sure no proof of id is required for vaccination. As long as the person is NHS registered, just the name, dob and some knowledge of personal medical history details. The “system” has vaccination record if they bother to search the “right” person. Not sure why those working in the front line are trained to ask pointless questions.

I'm sure that's true now at least, but if people have their information available it does make every one's job easier and quicker. But this was early on when only people who were at high risk were being invited to get their jabs so you were expected to have your paper work.

Maybe other sports eg tennis should follow suit, it would stop a lot of aggro

I /thought/ that had been known for a while. But maybe I'm mistaken. I do remember linking to a different piece comparing the risks (through vaccine or Covid induced) in a different 'discussion' on this board. Its always seemed likely to me, since my working assumption (based on very little) is that most of the side effects of vaccination are in effect a sub set of side effects you immune system could induce when responding to the actual virus.

If it's mild it would be no worse than that damn cold you just got rid of that goes round the family and comes back again.

Just had my booster (Moderna fwiw). The whole process took about 15 minutes, 10 of which were waiting because they were running a little behind.
No great shake in the scheme of things.

Just had my booster (Moderna fwiw). The whole process took about 15 minutes, 10 of which were waiting because they were running a little behind. No great shake in the scheme of things. I remember the times when we had long Q's outside the centre, people sometimes Q'ing for 45-60 mins on walkins, and then similar wait when inside the centre. And very few people indeed complained. These days at ours, its not untypical to come straight in, check in, and see a vaccinator, and have the whole process done in 10-15 minutes. And that is with reduced opening hours. In many ways a good thing, but not such a good thing when there are appointment no-shows and a lot of people still not 'fully topped up'. I did my first shift this week on a day that was dedicated to 15 and under only. That included the newly opened up cohort of 5-11 year olds with a medical reason to be vaccinated. Very good that they aren't having to hang around very long.

Yeah to be fair I went to a little local chemist, so wouldn't have expected a perfectly streamlined industrial process. It was fine.
