As somebody who has just recoverd from the virus I can confirm that the first few days can be uneventful. Panic sets in about day 5 when you realise that you don't have enough alcohol or ice cream to last the isolation period.

Does one not have staff one could send to collect these essentials? I have a couple of relatives currently mildly inflicted they send small requests every day, always ending with and our newspapers. I am not greatly amused at this.

No obvious signs to change strategy according to the experts.

So what on earth is happening...? Is there a new variant that's super-lethal and vacc-proof, or what? There is some suspicion that the Sinovac vaccines don't work very well, but also they have never really had much virus in circulation so natural exposure is also very low.. They also seem remarkably ill prepared.
