This morning the best offer is -8% and best bid is -8.2% I hope that -8.9% was considered as a rare opportunity in the context of a discount which has a direction of travel to a lower number. Good that the market quickly disposes of these offers for a quick sale. But surely we are all interested in the overall health of these Access accounts and getting new lending going with confidence in maintaining value (as expressed by discounts)? Yes someone must pick up bargains - hopefully to keep rather than flip. (I post as someone with too much in the accounts in present conditions, but not wishing to exit.)

As far as I know there are no plans to restart new lending in the Access accounts until normal market conditions return where there is a balance of new lender investments and withdraws at par.

Lets see if the latest email has a impact on discounts for the coming days. Not so sure it should be too big of a issue, but the predicted losses in 227 along with a extention of fees (thats how people will see it whatever way you word it) might knock a few horses down.
Just drawing down the last holdings of mine. I've slept much better since selling out here, something I don't even feel on the stock market now days!

Buying discount down to around 7.0-7.2% this morning Would auto reinvested interest buy at the current discount level offered? or does it work differently to that. That if the case and presumably a bit of manual reloading of interest probably makes the first day of the month a good time to sell.

I've set the system to use my AA interest to only buy at 7.9 or 8%

Given my interest this month was inevitably highly unimpressive, I had just gone with the default transfer to cash account, but just had a bit more of a look. Yes your method seems sensible enough. I suspect as with most platforms there is a fairly large number of investors who either through lack of looking or general indifference leave settings at the setting they first chose. I would guess the original default on the account was just auto reinvest?

A word of caution: I think the system will re-invest interest at the best rate it can in relation to your settings. It's probably in the Ts&Cs somewhere.
Last month I had settings at 8%, but some was invested at c7%. This time round I asked the system to make withdrawals to cash. That way I maintain control.
Of course, the algorithms could have been tweaked in the last month.

I think if I was starting from the position of being 'locked in' and having decided 'toughing it out' was a viable option, I would not be overly worried about a few decimal points one way or the other in reinvesting at a discount. Presumably the logic being that you are marginally diluting your current holding cost. If on the other hand you wanted out but were trying for the least pain, a day when discounts were low would have to be useful to know. And you would just be withdrawing interest happily anyway. It was a useful one off for me as I could unload my experimental purchases for a truly trivial profit, and reassess the logic of getting involved at all. I would think at the current levels the risk reward is probably not right for me personally. I suspect everybody has a different view on discount levels and it will end up being what people are content with rather than a meaningful measure.

Selling now at 6.5%. Market seems to be settling back towards a 'fair' discount.
