I'm not a fan of BitCoin at all, but hey, if you have the knowledge and/or confidence in it, and/or spare spondoolies to play with, Fill Yer Boots!!

I'm doing well with bitcoin and my other 2 cryptos, ethereum and stellar.
I put some money in around the beginning of December, spread across those 3 coins and by the start of this week the value of my portfolio had more than doubled, in part because I had some stellar which almost tripled after the Ukraine announcement. I withdrew most of it but they've continued to rise so I've put a bit more in again. I find it quite entertaining and a useful distraction in these troubled times, but I'd never risk a lot.
I was quite surprised how easy it was to withdraw in cash to my bank account. When I dabbled in bitcoin a few years ago I found it all a bit of a nightmare to understand and had to jump through all sorts of hoops to cash in my holding, but it seems easier now. I'm using coinbase and my money was back in my bank within seconds. For me, the hardest part was the ID verification process.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-55939972So Telsa have spent $1.5b on Bitcoin. I can't help that think they might have put that capital to better use. But I guess it might turn out to be the speculative punt of the century?

Given that St Elon's fanboys leap at anything he does, I can see this announcement itself giving the market a real kick up the chuff to ever sillier heights. Then St Elon will sell. Quietly? If it's public, there will be a collapse...

Anyway, if Tesla really HAS bought big at recent prices, then they're going to get very badly burned. Does this look like the price graph for something YOU would be buying right now?

EM makes me laugh... Mid December he tweets: Then, in January, Tesla goes on a January buying spree. Probably reasonable to presume that $1.5Bn purchase wasn't a single transaction and that it was spread across a period of time. Based info from Bloomberg, the average price across Jan 2021 was just shy of $34.7k. Not a bad return if Tesla are already quietly selling....

So give up making cars, and just become a currency speculator?

So give up making cars, and just become a currency speculator? When you can move markets to the extent that EM can with a tweet or an official announcement, it's hardly 'speculating'....

So give up making cars, and just become a currency speculator? Maybe he was simply abusing cars built by Fiat?
