I believe that one issue with Curve is that if you purchase on Curve and get a refund, it will not be credited back to the CC that you routed the original transaction to. It will go into your curve cash account. Personally I really did not like this feature. Amazon tend to do that as well they put refunds in your Amazon account not back the the Card you used Interesting. I've never had that. All refunds have gone back to the card (and account) I used. But then I'm not sure what it would mean to have an 'Amazon cash account' ?

Well, don’t forget Curve can travel time, I haven’t had any issues regarding credit card refund on curve or going back in time. I typically do transactions on 4 separate accounts. Personal current; Joint Current; my father's current (under POA); my credit card. I really want to a) easily select which account it goes on at the point of payment (I think/recall Curve allowed that from within the SPay app), and without fuss/intervention have refunds go back to the original account.

Well, for U18s, contactless payment is not always available. Apple Pay users must be 13+ and Google pay users must be 16+. Most debit cards for kids are available for 11+ and only a few like HyperJar, Revolut Jr and GoHenry will offer cards to 6+.

Has anyone tried adding Samsung Pay+ black card into any other wallet like, ApplePay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay , Fitbit Pay? Just received an notification from curve and I don’t like their plan much if they “force” me to upgrade. My current plan is free and has unlimited card to manage. All the other plan sucks £ except Samsung pay+ Edit: I spent some time applying Samsung pay+ card with a compatible Samsung device. However, the Samsung pay+ card is almost useless, I can’t have it added to other wallet, no Apple Pay / Garmin Pay / Fitbit Pay with Samsung Pay + card.

Reality check with the one wallet app, switching card seems to be fine. Contactless payment works as usual.
However, adding new care results “your wallet’s maxed out” message.
Definitely carrying a backup card if carrying using the “standard” plan without any “upgrades”

Just visited the local PO and collected £10.00 of mixed change (in a bag) .
I, for one, find that it is a life style necessity ...
A lot of other people @ knee level, voice from a sleeping bag, seem to demand it too. Not that they necessarily deserve it .

I went to the building society the other way round a couple of weeks back I was paid in cash for an eBay item and it was all in 50P and £1 coins.
I see the old ladies going to the PO for cash ( The scary one was the old dear who quite loudly asked to withdraw £3,000 in cash ) it seems that some around me draw cash out during the year and dish it out as cash for Christmas presents.

Well, I can’t deny the usefulness of cash, it will always be treated as legal tender and accepted by banks.
Antique cheques on the other hand are rather useless. Banks refuse to pay if you find an old cheque from a drawer even it does not have an expiry date and the payer has enough money in the account.

I've been to a couple of different cafes recently with large signs on the door saying that they only accept electronic payments, no cash. Didn't ask why as I tend to pay for such things with my phone anyway.

Ace, it’s true shops are entitled to accept card only as long as they are not discriminated others like people with disabilities. Banks on the other will accept old notes even they are no longer legal tender.

If I have no bank account or an account but no card, that would be discriminatory therefore they have to accept cash, we have more shops here in rural Wales going the other way IE cash only. It seems from talking to a couple of shops in the village that people have used Apple or Google pay for several months then done a "clawback" and had the funds returned, and of course deducted from the shops account.

Keeping a couple of notes in the wallet is fine, but coins are a nuisance, weighing my trousers pockets down. The sooner inflation makes the fiver the lowest practical unit of exchange the better.

They dont. They have the right to accept whatever they like ... they dont even have to let you in the shop. Discriminating against someone for not having a bank account isnt illegal

Didn't ask why as I tend to pay for such things with my phone anyway. The same for airplanes. Don't know if it's across the industry, but I've traveled by Eurowings and Ryanair this month and they don't accept cash. Works for me, I use Chase whilst they are paying 1% cashback. Regarding unwanted currency on board, Easyjet, TUI and British Airways are examples of holiday companies that will collect in-flight donations and Ryanair have, not without criticism, had a charity scratchcard scheme

I couldn’t believe it. I can pay less with the app compared to paying cash on a car parking machine.
