Is the implication that we have to go to "mumsnet" if we wish to debate topics relating to children ? I'd rather not as I'm clearly not a mum. You were saying there is no debate about it, there is if you choose to look. It's a hot topic on mumsnet at the minute for obvious reasons with very varied opinions. Why would you rather not at least read what mainly women are saying about it, they are half the population and most likely to be affected by it. Lots of single people and Dads post on there as well, and there are discussions about anything to do with life, not just women talking about children. Your post comes over as rather condescending to women really.Based on what ?

The Privileges Committee concludes Boris Johnson should have been suspended from the House for 90 days.
It says he deliberately misled the House, the Committee, impugned the Committee and was "complicit in the campaign of abuse and attempted intimidation of the Committee."

The Privileges Committee concludes Boris Johnson should have been suspended from the House for 90 days. ...with the threshold for a recall petition being 10... I wonder where that sits in the record books? He's already the first MP ever to resign using both of the stewardships - Northstead when he became mayor, now Chiltern Hundreds.

Jeez. That is a hugely damning verdict. No wonder he resigned. Originally the discussion was whether if found guilty of misleading the house the recommended suspension would be at the 10 day + threshold or not. Not read the report, but short of permanent expulsion due to imprisonment (a la Jeffrey Archer) it would not surprise me if that was a record. Still, it won't shut him up, nor his weasley sidekick "Get Me Out of Here.....but not just yet" Nadders. EDIT: nor of course the clamour of his being the 'best electoral asset the Conservatives have...'

Boris will know exactly where he sits in the record books; he is, after all, an historian.
And it is for that reason that I do not write him off. He will lick his wounds and return, if only to cement his position as the go-to for future question-setters on University Challenge.
Other quiz shows are will be available.

The report is being debated in the house on Monday. Suggestion is that Nadine is hanging on so she can speak in the debate in support of Boris.

The House of Commons has published a list of suspensions since 1949. The only suspension longer than 90 days was for Labour’s Keith Vaz. He was suspended for six months in 2019, after a committee found "compelling evidence" he offered to pay for a class A drug and had paid-for sex in August 2016. After that, the longest suspension was six weeks for Conservative MP Rob Roberts, who was found to have sexually harassed a member of his staff. The DUP’s Ian Paisley was suspended for 30 sitting days for failing to declare two holidays paid for by the Sri Lankan government and lobbying on its behalf.

Normal "strong" warnings about a Jonathan Pie video... He's... pithy, I think you might say.

The BBC asks if football commentators are diverse enough. Why stop at them? Why not ask if all the trades and professions are sufficiently diverse? Why aren't, for example, women well represented as plumbers, electricians, plasterers and binmen ? I wonder if we need more women in the abattoir industry ? Sorry Greenwood2 if you consider that statement "condescending" towards women. Its not meant to be ! www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-65949045
