Whatever he wears, and no matter what volume of griping about him you hear from the French citizens, he is going to win re-election by a country mile. And unless the far right guy steps aside, Marine Le Pen will be looking other job after coming in fourth place.

Not realy in the news, but it made me laugh.
I am thinking of upgrading my car so thought I would get a valuation from the 'We Buy Any Car' website. I never trust these sites when they start asking for personal details, so gave them the post code from the house I was born in on the coast of Somerset. When the result came up it suggested I take the car 16 miles to the nearest depot for a formal valuation, which was a suprise because I thought Taunton was the nearest at about 25 miles.
When I looked a bit closer there was a depot only 16 miles away, but 15 of those miles were due north across the Bristol Channel to Barry in South Wales. The actual distance by road was 104 miles

LOL, happens to me in reverse all the time - we live on the opposite bank. My nearest dealer/stockist is often a 17 mile swim away, over in Somerset... which we can see from our house, but is over 100 miles and 3 hours drive away as you say! Most websites use 'as-the-crow-flies' distances, something I never appreciated until living butted up against 180 degrees of sea!

Winding up petitions have been issued against four companies owned by metals tycoon Sanjeev Gupta, reports say. It owes £19.8m to HMRC, and according to court filings, the company has offered to pay £500 per month
However, HMRC said the plan is "not a reasonable offer" and is now pursuing the money in court.

I have no idea what drug it is but if it makes you skate as well as she does, we should all be taking it. Give her the Medal

And not forgetting The Rodchenkov Anti-Doping Act, which gives United States officials the power to prosecute individuals for doping schemes at international sports competitions involving American athletes, was signed into law in December 2020.

I must confess the Rodechenkov act had temporarily slipped my mind (never having been in there may be the reason), but I guess there being no Americans of rank present makes that a mute point? Personally my high point on ice was staying upright. So unless she has been genetically enhanced gets the Medal from me. Edit Drug is trimetazidine. The poor girl clearly has tinnitus (Fremch take it like sweeties as a cure apparently).
