Ukraine has declared the site of the Moskva wreck a site of special underwater cultural heritage. Not sure that is going to deter the Russians, who are currently conducting search & salvage at the site, using a ship built under the last Czar. And we though some of their land forces were old. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_salvage_ship_Kommuna

The idea that Le Pen (paid for with Russian money) wins makes me want to vomit.
What do we have to do to make the Germans stop giving Putain so much money?
Vote projections suggest Macron secured about 28% of the first round vote compared with about 23% for far right candidate Le Pen. Far-left candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon may have come third with about 20% of the vote.
So is it a gimme that the far left 20% will go to Macron in round 2?
Looks like Macron won with a 16% margin.

Brexiteers seeking confirmation are disappointed with Le Pen's performance, never mind there is always Olaf Scholz's potential unrevealed Russian connections!

If I see better this year I will die laughing (and of shame). Keep going to the end - needs headphones.

If so, wasn't he Chair of the Standards Committee when he had to refer himself to the standards commissioner because he failed to declare a paid for trip to Poland?
Hilarious.

...an omission which he himself realised, and notified the standards commissioner of. Nobody else had noticed. Now, how do you think that stacks up against the Home Sec getting £4k of Bond tickets and the nearest to justification for putting it through as a ministerial, rather than constituency, declaration, being that it's related to her job... How many of the current cabinet do you think would proactively dob themselves in over an omission in declaration...?

A rare cask of whisky has sold for a record £1m at auction, after being bought 34 years ago for just £5,000. The Macallan 1988 cask had been forgotten about until the distillery reminded its original owner that it remained maturing in a warehouse. The online sale, which ended on Sunday, drew bids from around the world. The winner was an individual private buyer from the United States.
The cask contained 374 litres.

Many years ago I was invited to a 1925 Maderia tasting. The importer was a now defunct sherry importer in Bristol who had their own wharehouse. The buyer had paid a bit too much for the wine so told the wharehouse manager to hide it out the way. The manager hid it and the hiden place was passed down the generations of manager with the instruction to "hide it", through the Blitz until finally the company finally gave up the ghost and they closed the wharehouse.
In walking through the, the now empty place in the 80s the last Director said good night to the watchman for the last time and was asked "what would you like me to do with this barrel?" which had been lodged into the floor with the top of the barrel forming part of the floor. (essentially in the crawl space in one of the few places where there was a crawl space between two floors).
Out it came and was bottled and sold off to favoured wine merchants.
Not the oldest wine I've ever drunk (1875 btw but that is another story) but certainly pleasant

On the subject of women Conservative MPs reporting that a male backbencher was watching pornography on his phone in the chamber. [To be clear I do not find that itself 'amusing']
This from the comments thread of a certain newspaper under the article reporting it:
Person A: Surely, in 2022, anyone found watching porn in the workplace would be summarily dismissed for gross misconduct.
Reply from Person B:
If they didn't realise it was porn at the time, someone later assured them it wasn't porn, they had been working really hard that day, they watched it for 9 minutes or less, and Lord Geidt is investigating it, it's not at all an offence.
