I have to admit when I saw that he had resigned I had two thoughts
1) What exactly do you have search on google with "tractor" to get porn?
2) Have we now degraded to the point where a man caught in a pretty strange act in a public place of work takes some time to resign. Using the Tebbit analogy, "just how long do you stay at the crease after you have been clean bowled?"
A while ago a friend told me about an unfortunate experience he had searching for steam trains online (he's a bit of an anorak), he clicked on ' puffing Billy' and it wasn't exactly what he expected. He didn't go back for another look! Reminds me a bit of a railway trip I took while in Melbourne many years ago. Some of the carriages have open sides and children are encouraged to sit on the ledge with their feet dangling outside. When I asked the conductor if he was worried that if one of them fell out their parents might sue the company, he looked at me in amazement and said 'if they have any sense they'll hold on tight'

Apparently Parish was responding to an advert saying "Even if you're an ugly b'stard, you can pull anything with one of these".

Maybe he was trying to find out a little more about their production facilities? From that page... "the DOMINATOR 130 is built at our main plant in Harsewinkel"

Parish acted stupidly, but didn't break any laws.
Will the convicted criminal Claudia Webbe MP now follow his lead and resign?

Parish acted stupidly, but didn't break any laws. Will the convicted criminal Claudia Webbe MP now follow his lead and resign? Clearly, she's not going to. Her appeal is being heard in a fortnight's time. If she loses that, and is refused leave to appeal further, then there will be a recall petition in her constituency. Same for Imran Ahmad Khan. If he's sentenced to a year or more, he's automatically out. If he's sentenced to less, then when he runs out of appeals, there will be a recall petition. 10% of the electorate in their constituency vote for their removal, then they're out. It's what happened to Chris Davies - except the constituency party then reselected him as the candidate in the byelection! At least both Khan and Webbe have been ousted from their parties... As Parish, before he chose to fall on his ploughshare.

What a pro. Labour's Welsh Health Minister, Baroness Eluned Morgan, will be miffed. Her fine example only amounts to a meagre four speeding convictions. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-61242316She's going to be royally stuffed when her party implements its blanket 20mph in all Wales' towns and villages.

Not exactly in the news, but from Tesco:
'The war in Ukraine has affected supplies of sunflower oil. To allow food products made with sunflower oil to remain on sale, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Food Standards Scotland (FSS) have advised producers can replace sunflower oil with other vegetable oils, such as refined rapeseed oil, without changing labels.
The FSA/FSS have advised that allergic reactions to rapeseed oil are very rare.
We are changing our labels as quickly as possible but some foods products which usually contain sunflower oil may instead contain refined rapeseed oil.'
What! Fortunately I prefer rapeseed oil anyway.

But from the quote how are food products made with sunflower oil remaining on sale if they are not made with sunflower oil? 'Products that are usually made with sunflower oil are remaining on sale (sometimes?) made with different oils, without changing the labelling' should be the quote surely.
