Not been much detail naturally about the supply lines but that is why NATO is deploying to the borders. I'm hoping there is serious ramping up going on.

China has do decide whether trade with the west is more or less important than trading with and supporting Putin. Or how they can balance it.

The Ukrainians are stunningly brave, and they seem to be putting up much more resistance than Putin expected. I fail to see how Putin and his cronies can expect to occupy and control Ukraine after they have defeated the army- they will be faced with continued insurrection and insurgency, with the insurgents well supplied by the likes of Poland and those countries which know what it is like to live under Russian occupation. If the Government can hold on for a while, allowing the western border to remain open, and further munition shipments to arrive, then Putin may have made a catastrophic error.

Putin has already declared war on the world. He's on a tightrope, one major incident away from poking the US bear! I can't see even China supporting him.
From Twitter:
"A friend is stuck on a BA plane at Heathrow. “Massive DDOS attack on website, check-in down, Terminal 5 systems down and boarding flights manually, pilot loading calculation system down, stand approach systems down, and the crew say they can't access any BA private systems”. FlightRadar24 and Heathrow's live arrivals and departures certainly don't look as lively as usual... www.flightradar24.com/51.48,-0.48/13 Very slow updates A whole raft of BA cancellations, both ways. www.heathrow.com/departureswww.heathrow.com/arrivals

Oh, no. Definitely not. Not on the day after Aeroflot are banned from UK airspace and Manchester United bin their Aeroflot sponsorship. No, that would just be a remarkable coincidence. www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-60533275I mean, BA are more than capable of cocking up their own IT, but...

Some nasty videos circulating on various Ukranian twitter feeds showing what hits from weapons like NLAWs do to armored vehicles. Crew cooked alive etc. What can a militia with AK-47s do against the might of the Russian army? Not a lot What can a militia with modern US anti-tank and anti-air infantry weapons do against the might of the Russian army? Thats a different question Charlie Wilson's War?

China has do decide whether trade with the west is more or less important than trading with and supporting Putin. Or how they can balance it. There was a UN security council vote yesterday to condem the invasion. Russia were the only country to vote against, with China, India and UAE all abstaining. The Chinese abstension was thought to be encouraging as it was believed they would support the Russians.

That's not quite as clear-cut as it sounds, unfortunately. www.securitycouncilreport.org/whatsinblue/2022/02/ukraine-vote-on-draft-resolution.phpOnly the 15 Security Council members get to vote on draft resolutions. Non-security council members can co-sponsor it, and 81 have done. Of the 5 permanent members: 3 voted for. (UK, France, US) 1 abstained. (China) 1 exercised their veto. (Russia) Of the 10 rotating members: 8 voted for. (Albania, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico, Norway) 2 abstained. (India, UAE) Also, the draft was edited to remove "chapter VII" measures, which would have allowed the UN to take "measures including the use of force". China is believed to have requested this as the price for their abstention...

I see that France has seized a Russian flagged cargo ship en route to St Petersburg (alleged to be taking new cars to commie land in contravention of sanctions).

Roman Abramovich has handed "stewardship and care" of Chelsea to the club's charitable foundation following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
