Roman Abramovich has handed "stewardship and care" of Chelsea to the club's charitable foundation following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
There was a very powerful message given before the Everton v Man City game this evening. It will be interesting to see if it is replicated at the League cup (or whatever nonsense name it has this year) tomorrow afternoon, given Chelsea are playing. I am not usually that fond of sport making protests, but feel the one earlier did it well (these games are watched World wide and almost certainly in Russia)

The but refers to Germany having blocked the supply of German made or German component equipment being supplied by 3rd parties up to now. Which as the 3rd largest (I think) arms exporter in the world, and certainly the largest in Europe has been a problem. Yes I get their history, but in some ways that makes supporting Ukraine's ability to defend itself even more pertinent. To be fair, Scholz is turning out to have considerably more to him than perhaps was initially thought.

flightradar24 right now - you can watch several USAF stratotanker and extender mid-air refuelling aircraft circling around near ukraines western border wonder what they are refuelling... possibly RC-135 Rivet Joint aircraft. They are known to be in operation (RAF and I guess US) close to - indeed it was said OVER - ukrainian airspace. I suspect the over bit can now be deleted. But they could also be carrying out refuelling operations with NATO air patrols in Poland.

Much derided by some before Russian boots started landing on Ukranian soil, he is turning out to be an incredible asset to the Ukrainian people. And got a pair as well: he knows that initially this was almost certainly meant to be a 'state decapitation' attempt, to remove "the (Jewish) Nazi". Also credit to the likes of the Klitschkos: they have the money and contacts that they could have cut and run. They haven't. Terribly tragic, all the more so because of the sheer bloody mindedness and courage of so many, in juxtaposition with the previous weakness of so many states which have been contributory factors in getting us to where we are. IMHO

Well, one thing is for sure, you can't accuse the Klitchkos of being afraid of a fight. They'll also be very aware of the Mike Tyson quote: "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face". As applicable in this situation as it is in boxing.
