Steve Harley RIP, you made me and many others smile 12 albums, 36 singles. It was a bit of an insult to Steve Harley's career that none of the thousands of the TV and radio stations who ran obituaries, knew of any songs by him except Make Me Smile. Who could forget 'Sebastian'?

Frank Field (formerly 'MP', more recently 'Lord')
I always looked on him as a realistic, hard headed, positive influence on the otherwise more left wing tendencies of the Labour Party, and a more acceptable counterpoint to the less pleasant anti-welfare system wing of the Tories. And one of the old style 'public service' political types with a good cross party reputation. But his reputation with me became more tarnished in later years in my mind: I just can't for the life of me quite remember why.
EDIT: Oh, now I remember. He campaigned for Brexit. Idiot.

Actor Bernard Hill, best known for roles in Titanic and as King Théoden in the Rings trilogy has died aged 79.
But for me he will always be Yosser 'Gis a job' Hughes in 'Boys from the black stuff'. A wonderful series reflecting on life in 1980's Liverpool for group of unemployed men in Thatcherite Britan.
