I loved Roger Corman's films, they were great. The Pit and the Pendulum, Tomb of Ligeia, Masque of the Red Death, etc etc. Great stuff. All low budget films, but that inspires creativity and innovation. He and Vincent Price made the perfect partnership.

I'm sure a young Jack Nicholson was on some of those, Dennis Hopper Without him there probably wouldn't have been other DIY film makers like John Waters or Hal Hartley.

Richard M Sherman has died in his 90s.
A good innings, that, and his place in film and music history is assured.
Have an ear-worm: "I'm the King of the Swingers, yeah, the Jungle VIP..."
MW
Edited to add: and that is only because I cannot spell another hit of his; supercalifragilitandtherest...
And another edit: Mr Sherman also wrote "It's a Small World". Another epic ear-worm...

the message that Rob Burrows left behind. There is a message in there for all of us.
Burrow's full messages reads:
"I hope one day we find a cure and live in a world free of MND.
"By the time that you watch this I will no longer be here.
"I am just a lad from Yorkshire who got to live out his dream of playing rugby league.
"As a father of three young children I would never want any family to have to go through what my family have since my diagnosis.
"I hope I have left a mark on the disease.
"I hope it shows to live in the moment.
"I hope you find inspiration from the whole story.
"My final message to you is whatever your personal battle be brave and face it.
"Every single day is precious.
"Don’t waste a moment.
"In a world full of adversity we must still dare to dream.
"Rob Burrow, over and out."

Apollo 8 astronaut Bill Anders, who snapped one of the most famous photographs taken in outer space, has died at the age of 90. Officials say a small plane he was flying crashed into the water north of Seattle, Washington.
Can't help but think that a 90yo shouldn't be flying a plane. If he want's to kill himself then fine, but what about all the people on the ground he could have hurt

Do we know it was pilot error, rather than a mechanical failure?

Do we know it was pilot error, rather than a mechanical failure? I know they have some strange goings on in your neck of the woods, but are you seriously suggesting that there is a scenario whereby it is acceptable for a 90yo to be in control of an aircraft. Would you be happy to be a passenger on an aircraft that was flown by a 90yo (Ladies and gentleman we apologise for the late departure of this Airbus A380 with 450 passengers on board due to the pilot needing to collect his pension).
Reminds me of the 2017 incident when 75yo Harrison Ford landed on a taxiway at an american airport, having mistaken it for the main runway. But not to worry 'Harrison Ford‘s attorney said today that the actor and veteran pilot will not face FAA disciplinary action for landing his small plane on a John Wayne Airport taxiway rather than a runway in February'. “Mr. Ford retains his pilot’s certificate without restriction'

Depends entirely on the 90yo. Even the FAA have medical requirements for licences to be held. www.faa.gov/pilots/medical_certificationWe aren't talking about a commercial pilot with passengers. We're talking about a bloke pootling around in a 63yo vintage plane that was part of the museum collection he owned and ran. heritageflight.org/aircraft/beechcraft-t-34/

I guess either way that makes him responsible.

Alas it's true. A tragedy. Even on holiday, things can go seriously wrong.
