And one time big buddy Alex Salmond is now having a pop, suggesting that NS wasted the momentum for independence that he gave her.
Probably true given that Sky are reporting:
- support for independence now is no greater than it was during the referendum of 2014, and
- 50% of SNP supporters say that making the next general election a de facto referendum on independence would not be legitimate

Alex 'found not guilty of any impropriety' Salmond was on Sky news at lucnch time suggesting that now NS has gone his rag tag bunch of nobodies could merge with the SNP. I wonder who could be leader?

As would be the case in any strong democracy, refusing to accept the referendum meant her legacy and status was tainted regardless of how many times she said the scottish people deserve another one. She and her party have had the luxury of independence OCD thanks to zero serious opposition.
