It what most of us already see happening. Only the idiots politicians in Edinburgh clinging on cant. This weeks mad proposals , back by green hardie is to increase council tax by 22% for band E and above. This doesnt include any local council tax rises. What planet are these people living on. They harp on about cost if living crisis but truly their policies are simply aimed at attracting voters . Even the local Yes shop has closed. Glad to see the back of these muppets.

one of the proposals for the Council tax review here in Wales is removing the discount for single occupancy.
Where I am a Band A is reduced by £350 for a single person with that discount, as my council is awkward about paying over 12 months and most pay over 10 that would add £35 a month, that would be a great hardship for a lot of pensioners.

LOL little realising that a band E can be a much greener property than a Band A Me I would reward people in green properties EG Solar power, solar water, heat pump etc with a lower council tax bill bill If I came into a big chunk of money then large south and west facing areas of roof would be a must on a new property, as would lots of insulation and a heat pump. It wouldn't be cheap to go seriously green but I believe with plenty of solar I could go virtually off grid for electricity.

I'm sure non of us mind paying for services if they are value for money. It's the bad management and waste of money that's really bugs me. The ferries up here are a perfect example. The king in Edinburgh yesterday with the protests was an enbarrasment. But that's something for a different forum perhaps.

This weeks mad proposals , back by green hardie is to increase council tax by 22% for band E and above. CT band or EPC band? Council funding needs to be restored - our county council's central government grant has been cut by 98.5% over the last decade or so, about £1,000 per household per year - all at a time when CT rises have been legally capped at or below inflation. Then we wonder why local services are falling apart...

Are those ferries still not ready Is that the 2 ferries where:
- The construction contract was awarded to Ferguson Marine, run by independence supporting tycoon Jim McColl.
- Ferguson Marine went bust part way through construction, leaving the taxpayer north of the border to pick up the bill
- The ferries are estimated to cost 4 times the original £97m budget
- In March this year it was estimated it would cost £293 to complete the vessels
- 5 years after the original completion date neither ferry has carried a single passenger.
- In 2017, the Glen Sannox was “launched” at a ceremony attended by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon. It since emerged it was far from finished with the windows on the bridge painted on for the event and the funnels were "temporarily fixed" to make the vessel appear more complete.
And these people think they can run a country

Wings over Scotland were discussing this, with the entertaining comment that "the ships are leaving the sinking rats"

That was brutal, and I enjoyed it . I do agree with her assessment of Johnson though.
