Snail mail keeps letting me down recently. The 48 hours service is getting worse, either less tracking and moving slower compared than years ago. Meanwhile, participating Post Offices offer DPD / Evri from counters. I'm lucky with my postal deliveries which are generally reliable, but in localities not very far away there are horror stories of once-a-week services and people collecting their mail from the sorting office.

EVRI / HERPES still give me 2 hour delivery slots. had one delivered today and it was rather wet. I hope it's not dog piss. I have seen neighbours' veg boxes delivered, but covered with yellow liquid. I guess they are safe to eat as these veg boxes are delivered in plastic bags. Small / medium logistics partners, nothing related to these big boys.

(Obvisouly I'm not advocating them peeing on parcels). Its quite "normal" for them to carry bottles etc and outside Amazon depots for example, you'll see the the bottles littering the road. Given there are tens of thousands of bogs on a given round there surely must be some solution.

I live in almost inaccesible place ,but Evri/My Hermes delivers faithfully ,a very shitty job with rubbish pay . Good luck to them. I've had the same postman for years . Tony know everything about my family and I provide him with trees to bonsai. The problem is Royal Mail is bloody expensive and only Tony remembers where I live . He gets £20.00 tip at Xmas.I'd tip Evri-Man ,but there are too many different ones.

My EVRI lady is gorgeous, I think she might think I was after something if I tipped her.

The most recent parcel fail is Yodel. The driver took a picture of the wrong parcel and actually delivered the parcel to a different place.
Fortunately, it was easy to prove it was a mistake since the photo showed a very different packaging to the online shop I actually used. Otherwise, I would have to swallow the loss

Recently moved to a fairly remote part of Scotland, The EVRI driver travels along the Mull of Kintyre across a ferry and carries cases of beer, compost, garden stakes etc up my very steep drive, he is cheerful and very personable, its all down to the individual. He probably gets peanuts as a reward, he is in for a good tip at Christmas.

I assume that EVRI driver is getting more than the standard 50-60P an item.

And you consider that only fairly remote ? I'm jealous by the way....

He drives from Cambletown to Tarbert then ferry to Portavadie then drives to Tighnabruaich, ( every day provided the ferrying running ) then back in the evening.
