Buyers can still pay with PayPal- If they have a PayPal balance they can chose to use that, or they can pay with the credit card linked to their PayPal account. With 'managed payments' the funds go to Ebay, then they distribute it to the sellers bank account, regardless of the payment method. I prefer it as it's less admin and slightly lower fees overall.

One question, if the eBay/PayPal protection for whatever reason fails or is unsatisfactory, isn't your fallback Credit Card Section 75 cover invalid because you bought via a third party or somesuch? eBay does seem to be heavily (and possibly/probably unfairly) biased towards Buyers. Bit like P2P Platforms seeming to be heavily (and definitely possibly/probably unfairly) biased towards Borrowers. And so it should be ... im not aware of many unscrupilous buyers. As for your first line point... i have never in donkeys years of using paypal found them to be failing or unsatisfactory... if you unknowingly buy CRUD on ebay, or indeed anywhere else, and then pay through paypal.. they simply give you your money back and then say to the seller "You owe us £x .. pay up or lose your paypal account".... And rightly so IMHO.

As a seller I reckon about 1% of my transactions are bad, Even when I had a buyer ask for extra photos of a camera lens, and send an email saying he wanted it because his identical lens was broken, and lo 2 days after it was posted I get "this lens is broken, I want a refund", despite me sending ebay the photos of the lens I sold showing the serial number and a different number on the returned lens they still refunded him. I've had items returned that have clearly been tampered with but Ebay still supports the buyer.

Quite right.. not all buyers are good... but 1% bad is pretty ok, 1% too many i admit.. but by contrast that makes 99% of buyers good... so its pertinent that both ebay and paypal support those 99% figures.

3 rules with ebay... 1. pay with paypal 2. pay with paypal 3. never pay with anything other than paypal. lol eBay have ditched PayPal, You can pay for any item you like on ebay.. with paypal.. matters not who owns it.

That is well out of date, I'm an eBay seller and they do not allow me or any other seller to receive payments into a paypal account, it now goes straight to your bank account, after eBay have deducted fees

Should also be noted that Paypal needs to up its game a bit... Being the internet savvy buyer i thought i always was.. last week i needed a cheap 32" tv for the conservatory.. i bought one from here, 32" bush smart tv.. £68.00.. yes yes i know £68.00 .... lecentrum.com/ The telly has dissapeared off the sight.. i payed with paypal... then i thought damn.. and did a little research.... uk.trustpilot.com/review/dabanko.co.uk (dabanko lecentrum are the same co) certainly wont see my telly ... no answer to email and phone number always goes to voicemail.. never answers Im quite confident i'll get my £68.00 back from paypal... but why/how are these scam sights allowed to have a paypal account?....

Just sold a manual for 2.99.clearly marked uk delivery only.
Buyer was in Jersey . Think ebay need to sort out their platform as courier companies definitely consider Jersey offshore and not uk.

Had the same with Isle of Man and Scottish Islands, Royal mail regard it as UK but the courier services charge extra. Ireland is another bugbear, Northern Ireland is regarded as UK but the South is Europe. I have had sellers drive over the border to post stuff ( especially if the live close ) and buyers have it delivered to drop off points in the north.

I'm not trying to make a living selling on ebay , just having a clear out so now I'm probably pricing myself a bit on the high side as selling stuff under a fiver us really just too much hassle. If you leave stuff on and relist it, eventually it will sell. If it sitting in my loft it's not causing a hassle until it sells.

Also had an odd one recently, bought an item, item apparently sent, then refunded. Item still available (from the same seller) now at a discount, bought the item, item delivered.

Might start a new thread for this coz I'd really like to know the answer.
I did a stupid thing and bought the wrong size of something. Then I bought the right size and contacted them to get a refund for the "wrong" one. No reply. Went to Paypal and was asking me for tracking numbers so I sent the wrong one back and provided tracking.
However, I don't think Paypal are going to refund as the item is not faulty. Its only about £18 but its annoying me that the company doesn't reply to me and seemingly won't refund me (they have the original back now).
Is court the only option?

I use my paypal account much more that cc where PayPal is taken. I just feel it's more secure than quoting a cc number online or over the phone. Only ever( famous lady words)had one issue and that's where ebay fees were fraudulently taken. Got money back in 2 days from PayPal.
Mr musk certainly did some things right!
