Jesus christ on a pogo stick. Colour me not the least bit surprised. And 70% of the people working on the project were let go to boot. This is going to be a very "interesting" problem for the next govt to solve. Someone explain to me: how come every major national chain in the developed world can have EPOS and logistics systems, that work, and yet POL can't manage it.

🤣
Just doesn’t add up, could the transaction completed by human on the otherside, and not AI?
How come I haven’t seen anything like my accounts value increased by 1000% yet?

Latest is that head office say they can see that the balance is £3000 but if they update the book it still says £27,300
I did say when they phoned at 5 do I get the interest on the extra £24,000
slightly scary that it can happen like this

I do a lot of transfer transactions on my primary current account. I've never - knowingly - had an error in the balance (which at that order of magnitude I'm sure I would pick up).

I overpaid the HsBC regular saver once, like £25k. It took 2 working days to sort out with the “call center”. yet no automatic fund reversal and not extra interest

My parents went into the bank on the Friday before a bank holiday to get some cash to go away for the weekend, the cashier convinced them that they had too much in their current account and that they needed to open a new account which they did and agreed to the transfer of several thousand. Come Saturday when they went to fuel up their credit and debit cards were refused with the result that the cash went on the fuel and they went home. None of the local branches open at the weekend and the help lines basically said that there was nothing that could be done till the Tuesday. So after a weekend of stressing they went to the bank where it transpired that whilst the correct amount had been credited to the new account 10x times the amount had been taken from the current account putting them massively overdrawn and triggering the locking of their cards, at which point my father had a missive heart attack and died in the branch.

There are really not any words one can say to that, other than I'm so sorry for you and your family. And of course for your father.

An interesting thread, this one. But just on this one page 18 there are two instances of blasphemy which add nothing to the debate and are needlessly offensive. Can I suggest bracknellboy and james100 that you give it a break? It just spoils what you have to say, for no purpose. However, I have no intention of entering into a discussion and shall have nothing further to say on the subject.

Offensive expressions and unnecessary "oaths" of any kind add nothing to the discussion, and can and do offend people. There's no need for it, it's not funny or clever, just inconsiderate.
