I wish you hadn't posted that. Its a shame the sentence caps are so low. I also would like to see these people executed and failing that life in prison but looks like a year or two inside is what they're heading for. One of the pictures showing a US psychopath had a pic of Trump in the background. That's at best pretty convenient for the Beeb.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-68900203This is an outrageous waste of public money. Why aren't more nurses (and doctors) being trained urgently? Is it because it might take longer than an election cycle to see the results ?

Hardly surprising that top tier football in UK and Europe is so corrupt with all those billionaire owners. Thank god for the financial fair play rules that penalised Everton and Notts Forest !

Why do bankers deserve to have their pay driven up by market forces and not nurses?

The agency said they make (if I remember correctly) an 85% markup on the labour of their nurses which at agency rates are already much higher than their permanent colleagues. As I said, an outrageous waste of tax payers money.

It's an issue with "agenda for change" senior nurses don't get paid overtime, so won't do it, they then bank for agencies and get paid more than what would have been the overtime rate

Or do you prefer a centrally planned economy?

Free market adjusts price according to supply and demand. You want to restrict supply (nurses) and thus have private recruitment consultants charge more accordingly. I say increase supply. And er...no you're making quite a leap from someone concerned about tax payer value for money to someone wanting communism.

Just looking at the private sector pay for paediatric nurse clinical specialist. uk.indeed.com/m/viewjob?jk=fe01a6343f710f3aAdvertised as 55-63k per annum plus bonus, much less than £35 per hour. So how much money the government is saving by not paying all specialist nurses £800 per hospital shift? I await answers from the experts. Let’s hope that last minute agency 12 hours shift saves life. TBH, I know a few people would refuse to work extra hours even at £800 per shift. Different people have differ priorities.

Putting aside the fact that I am clearly not the target market.....
Eurovision song (really not what I call songs) contest. Should this be news at any level?

My personal view is UK will be lucky to finish last
