LOL as in Cuckoo use KRAKEN for CRM Kraken built by Octopus, and is becoming the defacto standard CRM for Utility companies Oh, lawdy. That's not good. (he says, still swearing at Octopus' billing incomptence)

Back toCommunity Fibre experience. Customer service and installation services are currently outsourced. Customer service based in SA. Fibre cabe used by CF are really cheap, not as good as Hyperopttic’s cable Planning to test Voda and see it serves my purpose better. Test drived Vodafone Fibre 500 today. The speed is 480Mbps DL and 78 MBps UL. It didn't work OFTB after OpenReach engineer installation as Vodafone hasn't activated the line before the visit. However, the connection works fine 30 minutes after installation.
The contract is 24 month but I don't like the price hike after 24 months. I guess I am not "satisfied" and return the equipment.

I have cityfibre to the home with vodafone as a provider. Cityfibre support up to the fibre modem on the wall and vodafone support the router.
Did your Telephone line work from start ? I had FTTP with SKY/OpenReach. Switched over to CityFibre/Vodafone last Thursday. Thought they could use the same Fibre backbone, but No, they have their dedicated street cabinet, own junction box on my outer wall and used their own ONT (swapped the Openreach one with their own) on my inside wall. However, the telephone stopped working. Surprisingly, it worked fine when I switched over from Copper to Fibre with SKY without any issues.

benaj, Did your Telephone line work from start (after switching over to CityFibre) ? My Vodafone Fibre test drive comes with free Digital Voice. It worked fine out of the box. Community Fibre doesn’t offer free telephone service and I have my own VOIP service, so I wouldn’t know if it works out of the box.

benaj , Did your Telephone line work from start (after switching over to CityFibre) ? I'm now about 3 1/2 months into the process of a promised supposed switchover to FTTP over City Fibre infrastructure. Total and utter shambles. Just a good job my FTTC hasn't been switched off.

Landline has never worked despite being included in my service package, I forget the details or why it wasn't setup at installation. I never use a landline !
Anyway, I contacted vodafone and they set it up. Normal BT phone with a rj11->rj11 cable supplied with the router plugged into the TEL1 port on the back of the router. Don't waste any time messing about with phones or cables until you see a white phone light on the router to indicate service is active. No need for a VOIP phone because the VOIP functionality is inside the router.
This link helped a lot.

Last week my fast-fibre cable was cut by workmen for the second time. The TalkTalk customer support people were very polite and good (if a little difficult to understand).
I'd been happily online until about 1200 and tried again around 1500 only to have problems. I'd just walked down the road and noticed technicians working on a telegraph pole from a substantial elevated platform above some road works (whose workmen I'm inclined to blame). So that was a good response time. The first City Fibre team had to escalate the repair to better-skilled colleagues. I was offline for 48 hours, during which I just about coped with my mobile phone.
My TalkTalk package includes landline rental, with phone calls from it being very expensive (£3 or more to talk to my invalid neighbour for 16 minutes), and it's something that I hardly ever need (if at all), so when the time comes to renew I'll be looking for a different package.

Thankfully I leave sky broadband in 3 weeks after my notice period. After a chatbot confirmed my contract expiry and new price should I want to stay , I asked why the new rate was over 13%, I was quoted signed t&cs. Even although inflation is allegedly much lower. The fact that after 8 years royalty to be told I'm on maximum discount and instead of 25 going to 29 the actual price should be£43 told me I did the right thing to leave. Apparently all sky competitors are increasing by same suggests its OK to rip customers off, they seem to be behind on their research as my new 3 deal is half the price for much better speeds. Bye sky.

Well, it was finally fixed by a config change at the Vodafone end, so nothing wrong with my cabling or converter. As I said, my previous FTTP Router worked fine with my Panasonic cordless phone(s). I don't use landline to dial out as I don't pay the extra charges for call - just use the Mobile's packages. However, there are a couple of old people who still are comfortable with using the landline and they call us on the landline - so didn't want to cut them off. On chatting with vodafone, the 1st operator said that it usually takes 48 hours for the landline to become active - that's what was their experience with almost all customers. After 48 hours, when it didn't come back to life, I chatted again and I think a level 2 guy did some config changes and asked me to change the port from Tel1 to Tel2. I said I will do that once back home and contact them back. He then suggested if someone was home who could try that. So, I tried to call a Mobile, but the connection was so bad that none of us could hear anything. So I tried the landline and bingo it rang and we could talk even without changing the Tel port and was also able to leave a voice mail. So, it wasn't configured correctly at their end. I can now see the white light in the Router for Tel is On. So, it's the config at their end - insist on that if anyone faces the problem and no, one doesn't need to change the Tel. I have been using this Panasonic phone(s) since 15+ years when we had Copper broadband and then FTTP with SKY without any issues - so why wouldn't it work with FTTP for Vodafone.

Bye sky. If you are out of contract, why do you need to give 4 week's notice ? Is that a rolling monthly contract now ?
For me, I was still under my 18 months contract with SKY, but they increased the charges mid contract (which everyone does nowadays in April). So I used their Ts & Cs to exit early without any penalty. They confirmed there would be no early exit charges. So, I got the earliest switch date available.
I got a new Voda deal with cashback (topcashback) + a voucher from Vodafone. Win-Win. They only give good prices for new customers - so switch every 18 / 24 months & become a bew customer - the unloyalty bonus !

Just realised Shell Broadband are being “taken over” by Talktalk. Has anybody successfully switching a BT number to Virgin? Planning to switch soon due to this unexpected Shell’s move. I am not amused when I opened my email this morning. The Shell router was delivered on 19th April according to tracking info and I didn’t expect to be charged by Shell Energy Broadband. So I rang up whomever responsible dealing with ex-customers complaint. Guess what, the router has been received. 🤬 The complaint team confirmed no charge on the phone

Anywhere between 5 odd mbs to sometimes over 200mbs. It can change massively depending on position in room etc. With sky copper wire we got 4mbs. No trainer. In remote braemar we got 30odd mbs sitting in a tin box. I feel we suffered poor service for years until my son and forum members suggested this.
