I have some cans of lager in the fridge, and was planning to drink one every time England score tonight. Just wondering if 4 will be enough? Looks like a cup of tea at half time then.

Southgate has announced his retirement. Probably the right decision.

He hasn't achieved anything at club level and hasn't won anything or massively over achieved with England

A semi, two finals & a quarter is historically massively over-achieving ... winning a knockout penalty shoot out is pretty highly achieving.

I saw a suggestion earlier that Southgate's replacement should be a manager with a track record of success, having recently won the Euros, and who understands the British game.
It seems that a large proportion of football fans think this would be an utterly terrible thing, and are absolutely melting down at the very concept.
Sarina Weigman reportedly hasn't ruled it out.

Part of the problem is that English managers seldom get to manage the top premier league clubs. You have to go back to the 91 - 92 season to find the last premier league winners to have an English manager.

As a teenager I worked in an old fashioned delicatessen shop as a Saturday morning job (did I ever mention that I was an accomplished coffee roaster). They use to sell all the old Twinings teas - Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Assam, Broken Orange Peko. Couldn't stand the muck personally, always stuck to PG Tips.

I have you down as a lapsang souchon type.

Still, it's an excellent "I feel like a bbq but it's raining" hack. Use some in a marinade and you get a wonderful smokey bbq flavour through the meat...

Everyone keeps saying Tea, and I think 'Ah!tea" and making another cup. I'm getting bloated. Although it appears I've been doing it wrong when I boiled that small dog.
