Yup, I read that. But it doesn't say what "in arrears" officially means. Does that just mean if the payment is even a day late, you cannot sell the loan part?

'There are some restrictions on loan parts you can sell. Unfortunately you cannot sell loan parts: Which have no risk band That are in arrears (have currently missed a repayment) or are in default If, after the application of any mark-up or mark-down, the simple interest rate the buyer would receive if they held the loan part to maturity, and the borrower continues to make all repayments on time ("Buyer Rate") is less than 4% per annum. With one repayment remaining' My bold. Looks clear enough to me.

You'd think the network would be more resilient than this?
One location loses power, and .....

You'd think the network would be more resilient than this? One location loses power, and ..... That linked article says it's a partners' site. There are some very large internet clearing houses, and if one of those goes south - it could very easily cause capacity problems. Everything's been working for me - it's just been a bit slow and inconsistent. Which would entirely fit with one of the large clearing houses.

Similar problem yesterday with TalkTalk although bizarrely, things improved after a power cut lasting 40 minutes!

I haven't come across this term before.

I haven't come across this term before. Somewhere like Telehouse - www.telehouse.net/london-data-centres (down for me at the moment, ironically...). Basically, a sodding great big very secure building with a hell of a lot of big fat cables feeding a hell of a lot of flashing lights in a hell of a lot of racks, tying everybody's networks together. When they have a problem, things go very south very quickly.

Seems like, for a lot of people, it is access to BT's DNS server(s) which is the issue, and switching to the Google (spit!) version 8.8.8.8 might get around the problem. The 'Network' is a bit like the UK rail 'network' .. getting from A to B almost invariably results in you going via London.
