Awfully quiet overall on the board & platform in general over last few days! Can we have some new loans please to put back some life on these pages?

Barring the two biggies, the AM has been relatively quiet over the last week, if not longer. I wonder if people are holding on to their money in anticipation of what might come through the pipeline once the current 2 live loans finish in 4 days' times. It could also be we all had our fill of 'Ackney & Ipswich units. The two biggies did require a fair chunk of underwriting to get them to fly so wouldn't expect them to be removed any day soon. They could be sitting there for a while being gently nibbled at

Many have been picked up with much more still available.I've bought some & doubt I'll even be able to sell them back if I need to free some capital before the 6 months are up! andrewholgate has promised some loans going on AC over next few days so, we'll wait. Anything to break the recent monotony of the 'Lend' page on AC

Hmmmm........might give that a wide-ish berth when it comes on AM until I see what new loans materialise. I'm into the Ipswich one with some units & the two are somewhat interlinked anyway, so one or the other will suffice, worst case scenario.

Not impressed that the initial "Very quick drawdown expected due to the expiry of prior bridging loan" was replaced ten days after the auction ended with "Legal due diligence is progressing and drawdown is expected within the next 2-3 weeks." Not ideal on a six month loan!!! Expected better from AC. It's not the second statement I object to (the auction only ended 12 days ago) - it's the first! I wouldn't have paid up so early had I known.

I wouldn't have paid up so early had I known. I see no point at all to investing as an 'original' lender in any loan that has substantial underwriting, since it is so likely that those loan parts will become available in the Aftermarket just as soon as the loan is drawn down. The only things that might persuade me to invest early would be either a cashback offer for initial investors, or a definite schedule of fees payable by the borrower if the loan isn't drawn down very quickly after the auction closes. I realise that AC are working on the latter, but I'm not convinced it ever could be substantial enough to convince me that it would be better to invest in a heavily underwritten loan at the beginning than to wait until the underwritten loan parts appear in the Aftermarket. So I suspect that cashback might be the only effective solution for very large loans.

Maybe it's just me but I can see people being very greedy with the Aber... one that's 14% and several years potentially. I.e. it might appear on the AM and you might even see it but picking it up might be harder.

If people would be so keen to pick up parts in the Aftermarket, why aren't they flocking to get in on the deal now? Is it purely being nervous because of the extended drawdown times some loans have suffered recently -- or still are suffering? I suppose that, by comparison to the loans on offer in the Aftermarket now, when Aber*** becomes available there will be a lot fewer loan parts to sell, so they might be snapped up pretty quickly indeed.
