It's working, I picked up a batch of Stour****** yesterday, I managed to miss that one so it probably came to me because I had zero exposure to it. I've got none in this one also (as yet) but obviously other members were before me in the queue as I had set up an AI on it. pepperpot's experience suggests that if the lender at the front of the queue is willing to take up all the available parts that come to the AM then they will be given all of them. (There might have been nobody in front of j in the queue other than pepperpot.) On the other hand, if a lender's current holding in the available loan is the major queueing factor, it seems clear to me that as soon as pepperpot picked up one part he was less deserving of a second part than j, who also had an AI instruction for that loan and was holding no parts at all. Consider the case of Cu***** W*** T******. Once it is drawn down, £200k of underwriters' loan parts will appear on the AM. What would happen if there were 200 lenders with AI instructions for this loan, each having no parts from the auction and each wanting £2k of parts, and each having funds available in their accounts? Based on what pepperpot reported, it looks like half of these lenders would pick up £2k of underwriter parts each, and half would receive nothing at all. And it would depend entirely on whether they happened to be in the front half or the back half of the queue. Isn't it more appropriate that each of these lenders should receive £1k of loan parts, and no lender be left empty-handed? ISTM that pepperpot should have been sent to the back of the queue as soon as he was assigned one part. (Do we even know for sure whether he was sent to the back of the queue after picking up the whole batch of parts?) The result would be a more even allocation of any parts that come to the AM among all lenders with similar levels of holdings of a given loan. That, ISTM, would be a much fairer distribution. I'd certainly much rather receive an occasional single loan part via AI than wait much longer and, if lightning strikes, pick up a batch of parts -- though it still seems that a lender with a large holding in most loans would be very unlikely to pick up anything at all via AI. What do others think?

I haven't picked anything up on AI yet, though my buy list is very limited and on small scarce loans, so no surprise there.

It currently depends on how many loan parts are sold in one batch as instructions are currently executed as a whole - so the instruction is checked, it looks up what's available on the aftermarket, and then grabs what it wants. There's a patch that needs testing which guarantees that the instruction only buys one loan part at a time should there be others in the queue that would be interested in it, but it needs to clear testing before release.

I'm down for a £100 unit of Stour, I didn't get any, but it's not completely clear that pepperpot got more than one, he used the phrase 'a batch of Stour' that could easily be a whole big batch, or a simple slip of a few fingers on the keyboard. But the only time the Algorithm touched me it gifted two different things in two minutes. Both at £100 each, on both occasions my AI said it wanted more, but it wasn't given, but of course I've no way of knowing if there was any more. The stocks are A23 & A45 both on the 5th. HTH

What do others think? i'm with you, share out the goods amongst all those who have the readies and the desire. High net Worth Individuals can build large holdings by making shadow bids at auction time, or even underwriting if they ask to join.

Even HNWers need to diversify. Definitely some or most things on the AM will be more useful to small bods, rarely have I seen stuff there that would be of significant help to someone holding 10's or 100's of thousands, but maybe I'm not seeing it as I'm not looking for that. Clearly you need that helmet as you seem to be starting fights everywhere you go at the moment...

Actually we'd better stop this now before anyone with a name starting the letter A gets the wrong end of the stick!
IN EDIT I just want to say we're best buddies and this is all light hearted stuff. Good night.
