As well as platform-specific boards, I think it would be useful to have boards for more general topics such as Tax, Regulation and perhaps Comparison.
You might also consider stickies with links to the various websites.
Edit: I see a general board has just appeared. That was quick! Thank you.

Good plan - I'd just read a topic about regulation and added a "General P2x discussion" area before I saw your post. Stickies are a good one too - thanks!

How does that look - I've added the site links to the board descriptions?

Looks good but I tried the IsePankur link (just for fun) and it doesn't seem to work as a link. I had to copy and paste. Also it would be better to link to the english language version at www.isepankur.ee/home!

I have a slight concern that the front page is getting too big with all the boards. For consideration: have specific boards for the main platforms that were talked about on the prior forum, which would probably be: FC, Assetz (they are owed a nod at the very least), Zopa, possibly TC; and then a single board for 'other platforms'. If in time there was a need to elevate another to a first level board then it could be done.

Please include TC and can we have a 'What's New' link so I can quickly see what I haven't read? Thanks, really appreciate what you're doing to resurrect the independent forum!

Have shuffled the boards around (and managed to delete the FC board in the process, oops!). There's a "New" symbol that shows up against threads that have been updated since your last visit so you should be able to pick out wha's changed. If there's a specific thread you want to follow the "Bookmark" function in the "Actions" pull down at the top of the thread will give you a notification either on the forum or by email when the thread is updated.

<lightbulb> There we go! I've moved all the P2x sites into a single "Category" - much less space used up!

That's quite a long list already. I know that alphabetical order is logical and sensible, with Zopa out of sight at the bottom, but I wonder whether the "big four/five" Z, FC, RS TC and AC should be at the top, possibly achieved automatically by a sorting/ranking hamster into frequency of postings.
Never mind the loss of FC posts*; you're doing a great job organising this so quickly.
Signed

* Oh - they've been recovered :-)

<lightbulb> There we go! I've moved all the P2x sites into a single "Category" - much less space used up! Actually I preferred the intermediate stage sometime this morning ! Apologies. 1. Currently the general section is below the p2p section, it needs to be above it (this is as of 14:52). Otherwise its lost. 2. I do agree that under PX2 there probably ought to be boards for the 4/5 mainly talked about ones, and one general one for any other platforms. Otherwise things will just get too obscured. Just my thoughts. I won't offer to help in constructing that, as I'm likely to make a dogs breakfast of it since you seemed to have got to grips with the tools.

I'm not sure that the length of the p2p section is necessarily a problem as currently laid out. I've found myself using the chevron menu bar for navigating myself around - and I suspect regular users will tend to gravitate towards the 'new posts' view. Arguably once usage picks up ordering the boards by usage rather than alphabetical could assist. Personally I think this approach makes moderation simpler as each sub-board can simply spawn multiple threads on the chosen platform. Any other thoughts on the current layout ?

I can see the benefits of the chevron menu and that does alleviate much of the problem. I guess I just tend not to work like that. I'd still prefer to see the general board, as the shorter board, above the p2x one, for increased visibility, but that's probably just me.
One thing I've noticed with the 'recent posts' view. From there you don't seem to be able to reply, you can quote but not simply reply. Or did I miss it. that means you thyen have to navigate to the thread and then to the end if you just want to reply. Is that inherent, or some setting ?

Seeing Alison's post on the folk2folk board gave me an idea - those platforms which require more than £1000 minimum bid could be combined into a single board ... folk2folk , lendinvest, and there are others ... mayfair bridging, market invoice, platform black trading to name but three ... these I suspect will all be very minority interests and not by the typical forumholic !

Can't see an option to change it in the Admin area either. Just rearranged the forum layout again How does that look?
