Pardon my technical ignorance, but how do you make your laptop squawk when an E loan appears? Is there a setting or alert that I am not aware of or you run a script or some type of bot? Whilst I can't comment on how goldservice does it, one way is to use a browser plugin like Check4Change, and have it monitor a part of a web page that will change when a new E loan appears. Yes, I use a browser extension (Refresh Monkey); there is no script or bot.

Going back to the 14243 A-E cock-up... Interesting that the 'error' seems to have just happened and Fancifal Crustaceans are not admitting to any blame. If they offered to buy back parts that would presumably be an admission of responsibility. Instead they are being awfully nice and letting you sell parts at a discount and they will reimburse the sale fee and discount. Don't seem right to me. They've refunded my sale fee - and the premium I bought at. I'm happy with the way it's all panned out.

Did you mean 14883? Listed at 14:06 and filled by a bot 30 seconds later.

It went immediately to pre-agreement. I think their strategy yesterday was to starve the primary market so we had nothing but property to bid on.

Kinda tired of E bands. If they're bought out in 5mins they need to lower the floor.

Kinda tired of E bands. If they're bought out in 5mins they need to lower the floor. On the other hand, I get the impression that they're pulling up the rates of other bands, which is good for all investors. It just seems a bit unfair that a very few people are using bid-bots to swallow huge chunks of each "E" rated loan. I don't want to condemn bots completely because there seem to be other people (some on here) who use them less aggressively.

I resemble that remark (I hope). :>.
Yes, I wish they'd lower the base on Es, and raise the ceiling on Ds. The problem isn't bots, so much as greed (or maybe there are just a few sharks who are too big for this little pond, but won't go play with the big fish). Plus, of course, Fairly Creative's inability to admit there is even a problem, and implement any one of dozens of solutions that have been suggested over the years.
I'm just surprised with the volume of Es on the SM (some of them mine) priced at typically +0.4% markup, anyone can be bothered hoovering £10k or £20k for instant resale... maybe it is just the lack of anything more attractive (although property loans with 3% cashback have to be in there, surely?). It is certainly pushing up overall yields though, in other risk bands, and at both auction and on the SM (except, of course, for the poor old autobidders, who are getting exactly the same yield, unless they fiddle with the sliders, or benefit from some fixed rates being fixed rather higher).

Oh, someone's ears were burning? Well, most of us know who the offenders are. I'm curious about someone else from our midst who seems to consistently get a modest nibble in almost every E loan. Perhaps he's trained the cat. Now, leave the nice autobidders alone. I absolutely don't want them rashly meddling with their sliders.

I don't think her ears were burning; this forum is one of the resources she has yet to tap into .. it would be very useful to pick up the early warning of CCJs, loans back from the dead, etc, but the signal to noise ratio is not very good. 8>. Yes, several folks are fishing more successfully than she .. part of the problem is only polling for new auctions every 5 minutes or so, which is long enough for the smaller Es to fill at MBR and even (in some case IIRC) draw down. Every 5 seconds is certainly feasible, but not very considerate of website loading. Now if FC would sent out 'push' notifications ...
