I have 2 issues with the new site: 1. The method of setting the amount to sell needs fixing PDQ unless someone can explain how you can set a round figure of say £500.00 for arguments sake instead of having to settle for a stupid amount such as £506.29 or £497.03 to pick out 2 random amounts 2. How the hell do you buy a loan part? How do you set the amount you wish to buy? It’s as clear as mud to me and then you have to contend with the bot(s). 1. Type 500 in the box provided 2. Type 500 in the box provided (or however much you want, but only possible when the bots are temporarily overwhelmed, or are busy dodging flying banana skins )

Something needs to be done about the SM. I was watching it for half hour or so and every time something comes up the instant you click on it, it has already gone back to zero. No human fingers can work that fast so, as has been said, it must be bots set up by rogues that instantly buy all the scraps up so real people don't stand a chance of getting anything? I've given up trying to buy anything on the SM for now. I consider that an abuse of the system and when you see the SM is really in play only for sellers and not buyers, it must have the effect of encouraging everybody else to play the system by over bidding on the pre-funding just to get anything, knowing you can instantly sell the surplus you didn't want in the first place.

After today's fiasco, I've now given up on the idea of increasing my investment in SS by buying on the SM. It simply isn't worth the effort and frustration. Life's too short. I'll continue to pre-fund, but that's it.

I've been selling rather than buying today but I just tried making a modest purchase (as a test) and was successful first time. Maybe I was lucky with my timing of hitting Ctrl-R but it's certainly possible (admittedly, I didn't bother looking at what it was first).
Anyway, I'm about to throw it back again so good luck...

savingstream Please give us a straight answer, yes or no. Is SS allowing any so called "bots" access to the new site with the purpose of buying loan parts for sale on the secondary market as soon as they are offered? I am not prepared to sit in front of a screen, see a loan part appear, react within a second, and get told immediately that there is nothing available, time after time after time. I would rather know, so that I don't waste any more time. Thank you. PS, I think you had better invent a sytem like Assetz Capital whereby we can indicate a wish to buy on any particular loan, and your own hamster will allocate to all those asking (and who have funds available) as parts become offered.

I've managed to beat the bots 9 times (total just over 1K) but lost out many many more times .....
EDIT 'beating the bots' has some bad interpretations none of which were intended

And another thing that could be done (but surely someone has already suggested this) is improve the initial allocations when the loan is launched by doing something like Funding Secure: specify a limit per lender for the first 24 hours. Then some of at least wouldn't need to scrabble around in the secondary market, and speaking for myself and no doubt others, I would not be pre-bidding for more than I actually want.

For the people desperate to invest in property, don't forget 12% + 1.5% cashback available on MT. A bit of competition will do everyone good.

Good luck to you - ablender and duck I don't mind missing out, but not in such a short time that no-one could possibly have filled in all the boxes manually, done all the clicks manually, and had the responses from SS. I'm talking one second - I usually don't even get as far as filling in how much I want to buy - the loan part has already been bought before I can get that box. PS I did buy a couple of small parts earlier this afternoon - presumably because the (alleged) botmaster(s) weren't interested.

With regard to pre-bidding: if you're not prepared to bid more than you want, then be prepared to receive considerably less than you bid. I think I got about 10.5% of my bid on PBL067 today, about 50% of what I really wanted!

same experience here in trying to buy - by the time I read the amount available it's gone. But at least the site is working now unlike earlier today and surprise, surprise, the purchase which the system said it was processing never completed....
(I agree with those who are urging SS to do something about the bots - I can see the slogan 'ban the bots!!')

Perhaps they are based in Russia, China or Korea.

Have no idea how to go about building a bot.

I have just put up several parts for sale and they had all sold before I navigated to the sold page.
