Well, I got a little bit in the end. Interesting theory that SS might not have wanted it sitting available overnight.

Surely it should be 'illegal' to buy it all up overnight, to thus earn a day's interest? What is to stop anyone doing that?

Surely it should be 'illegal' to buy it all up overnight, to thus earn a day's interest? What is to stop anyone doing that? You'd make about £400 overnight in interest. But you'd have to be pretty damn sure that it all sold again on that following day - else you'd be buying what's left back that night to avoid losing the second day's interest. Say half went - you're now buying back £600k, to gain £200 in interest. Against that, you've got a big risk of being called in on it by SS. Try that more than once, you can wave goodbye to your account, I think.

Whoever took the rest of PBL073 off, it was SS who put it back on because loan parts placed on the SM now are selling straight away.

73 has yet to appear on the "live loans" page, which makes me think that it has not sold out yet, and that large £1.2m taken on and off the site was done by SS themselves 73 was on the live loans an hour ago Are you sure? Just looked and it's not on the live loans page I'm looking at. Are you sure you weren't looking at your own live loan parts page Ignore me, just read on another thread that its because if a loan has anything available on it, it doesn't appear on the live loan page.

Sorry highlandtiger, when I went to bed last night there was approx 1.4mil still up for grabs on 073, this morning it was all gone with one taker seeming to take 1.2mil, the loan was listed as live. A little bit later that 1.2mil was back in the available loans page, now 900k left and shrinking slowly.

Would guess SS have taken it down again for whatever reason, maybe to use the interest for day to pay for the Christmas night out

Does this mean we'll be getting complaints about bots again, because loans are disappearing in seconds

£890,000+ just gone. Cupboard now bare again except for a bit of boat well its back again I just hope it was SS taking it off and putting it back on again rather than a chancer called "m************3" getting to earn £287 overnight interest for doing nowt.

I just hope it was SS taking it off and putting it back on again rather than a chancer called "m************3" getting to earn £287 overnight interest for doing nowt. Or it could be someone who can actually afford it. Picture this: Lender X buys £1m+ just before midnight and gets the interest. He has the money in the account so SS does not mind. Lender X does not intend to hold all of this loan for long (diversification can be a reason - but at the same time he needs to do something with his money). After midnight Lender X puts back the loan for sale. According to SS rules it is not earning interest, but it does not matter as no interest is calculated during the day. In the evening, lender X buys back what has not been sold and gets the interest on what is left. And the cycle goes on.
