There's been plenty of reports about endlessly spinning "Processing your investment" so it might be worth starting a new rhread about it. Currently, I'm unable to buy any PBL027. If it is any consolation I have not been able to sell any PBL027, which is really annoying as I need the cash to pay for a recent purchase!

I would rather hope that they wouldn't "housekeep" your purchases if you'd placed loans on the SM to cover them, especially as you couldn't cancel the selling loans after the "housekeeping" had been done.

The rules about pre funding / purchases have always had either put new cash in or sell existing parts. Unfortunately if you only put on sale and don't actually sell then you would be in breach of these rules. That said, with a couple of loans seeming broken for sale purchases I suspect SS may provide another day or so grace than normal. Just my view, SS make the rules!

No problems here, though I haven't tried to buy 027 or 088.

The whole 'must sell parts to cover' is a little unclear - does that mean 'put up for sale' or 'achieve a sale'? Even SS can't guarantee to achieve the latter, no matter which of your parts they take back and 'sell off'. (The verb 'to sell' is just naturally a rather vague one). Maybe savingstream can come up with a rather more explicit definition of what you have to do to comply .... and if it's 'achieve a sale' then who is at fault if the SM is broken at the time. 8>.

If there is a technical problem, people should be given extra time to settle.
If there isn't, it's the sellers problem if it doesn't sell in time.

So, what's the general view?
I've got £1500 of 88 high up in the queue (from yesterday afternoon, when I think it was mainly underwriters ahead of me) which I need to sell to balance my account.
Do I wait for an update from SS, or do I sell something else tonight and then have a problem when the 88 sale finally goes through?
Do we know how wide scale the issue is? is it just 88 and 27, or are there others with problems - the last thing I want to do is put more sales in stuck queues and still not clear my balance.

I'm in the same position, needing to sell some of my 88 pre-fund. It is now top of the queue and has just started being taken, so hopefully I'll be okay. But, I think it's telling that SS haven't yet sent me an email asking me to clear my negative balance. I guess they haven't sent them out yet because of the technical difficulties and will allow a little more leeway than usual.

The reconciliation routines and related 'clear the negative banlance' emails are automated and come in the mornings of a business day. They don't (usually) run these routines on the week-end. The last time they did the process was on Friday morning, as a payment I made on Friday evening was not acknowledged yet.

SS do normally run the reconciliation routine at least once on a weekend - usually Saturday but occasionally on Sunday - though I agree they haven't done so this weekend(I also have a payment sent on Friday which is not yet showing)

Personally I have little sympathy with anyone struggling to sell any of PBL88. Maybe if you hadn't tried to game the system by prefunding more than you actually wanted you wouldn't be in this predicament. Lesson learnt maybe.......?

Maybe if you hadn't tried to game the system by prefunding more than you actually wanted you wouldn't be in this predicament. Lesson learnt maybe.......? Not all selling of loan parts after launch is due to gaming you know. You cannot always pre-bid the exact amounts you want if they are between bands. If you wanted £50, you may have bid for £100 with a view to selling any surplus, likewise if you wanted £250 and bid for £300 or you wanted £13,000 and you bid £15,000. I wouldn't describe that as 'gaming' myself. I would have thought on a loan this size (coming as it did not long after the last large launches) that there wasn't that much 'gaming'. Some people prefer to try their luck on the SM rather than pre-fund, and they can't buy either. I just hope SS get their systems sorted on Monday, so that people can continue trading either way on all of the SM.

I was planning to sell some farmland once I knew exactly how much of the new ones I'd got (which was in the range of what I wanted). However, because someone else had just offloaded many acres of that, I thought my best option was to put some of 88 back. Again, if I'd known that nobody could buy that, then I'd have sold something else. Without restarting another debate, a cancel sale button would allow me to resolve things.
