I understood that this was going live before the final report was received. But the loan wouldn't drawdown until after the final report was received.

And SS don't actually need to have the money (and therefore pay interest on it) until they need it to draw down (or if they want to use their own cash as a float, not even then) so maybe they are saving a few shillings .. or maybe they are just working overtime today. It does incline me to not sell on the SM until I get the 'you have been allocated' email, even for stuff which may be slightly harder to shift (Bedfordshire farmland, and other recent large loans).

They won't be doing themselves any favours long term if they are looking to save a days interest. I've sold a few bits this morning ready for the pre-fund. I too will pre fund first before selling old stuff to pay for it in future if it doesn't go live when expected so they'd be paying more interest in the long run.
