I got one of those emails Thursday morning, and it did make me worry that the FP I made the previous afternoon might have got lost in the ether, so I wasn't a happy bunny either. Especially since in other similar situations my transfer had been credited to my account early enough in the day that it prevented the generation of the dreaded email. The disclaimer at the bottom of the email really doesn't mean much if you don't know whether or not SS have already reconciled all of the payments they received the previous day, does it? I realise that the emails are generated automatically, and the reconciliation is a manual job, so the problem occurs only if the reconciliation doesn't happen early enough. My suggestion for savingstream would be to wait until the reconciliation is complete before generating the emails. It shouldn't be that difficult to generate the emails on demand, and the last step in the reconciliation process should be to trigger the generation and sending of the emails. Thank you mikes1531. My point entirely.

I think some people may have misunderstood my post. I'm not criticising SS, I just think the email could be better worded so as not to alarm some investors. Maybe something like this: "We are reconciling payments later today. If you have not sent a payment please do so now or your loan part may be sold on the Secondary Market". Chris chrisuk if you are getting alarmed at a simple e-mail message, then.... Dear earthbound, I'm not alarmed at all, but some investors might be. Especially some of the more senior investors who are trying to supplement their meagre pensions, which is why I have suggested a re-wording of the email.

I've just read through all 3 pages and I'm surprised that nobody does* as I do when I get the Email. Quick check of online banking, yes payment made, 'problem' cleared. I run 3 accounts so there is always a chance that I have made a mistake or as I did once (another platform) I can't have hit the final 'submit' button so no payment was made ... Viewed as a simple reminder to make a check the Email doesn't cause me a problem. *perhaps others do check? The problem I believe is that banks do not guarantee 'Faster Payments', so there is always a remote chance that SS will not receive the payment quickly. Also computerised systems can go wrong sometimes. This is from the Faster Payments Information website: "Transfer time, while expected to be short, is not guaranteed; nor is it guaranteed that the receiving institution will immediately credit the payee's account." So I believe this means that even if the money has left your account it doesn't necessarily mean SS have received it. Barclays Online Banking allow you to download a 'Proof Of Payment' PDF file which I always keep in case there is a discrepancy.

I had an issue this week. Made a payment on Tue 20:00 it didn't show until Thu 12:30 Also made a payment on Wed 21:00 that was credited by 10:30 The deposit date under transactions has the correct dates that you would expect. Got the email asking for funding but was happy it would turn up in plenty of time.

I made two withdrawals yesterday afternoon and usually credited to my bank first thing next day. Today no money and still no money have e mailed SS at 11.30 and no reply. Has anyone else had this problem today a bit concerning ahead of a long weekend.
Mind you better than FC made withdrawal on Wednesday and still no money.
Fortunately good old MT came to the rescue 15.50 place loan part up for sale by 16.10 the loan part had sold, a withdrawal request made, request processed and into my bank and the mon ey withdrawn from cash point. Now that is real service shame other sites could not do the same !

I also got a bit worried when I got the email (not very recently but a few weeks ago). I had done the bank transfer the previous day for a 4 figure sum and then that email arrived and I was worried my transfer had gone astray or I'd got the payee details wrong.
It does cause worry to some people.
As a result, I now pre-sell stuff as soon as I get the 24 hour advance go live notice to avoid ever having a deficit. With 2 recent loans not going live when stated it's lost me a couple days interest but I'd rather that than get the email and be concerned.
