After yesterdays release of PBL094 I was left with a deficit in my account which was corrected by a bank transfer last night. I know the reconciliation only takes place at SS at certain times of the day but I was rather surprised to receive this email this morning "You currently have a negative balance of £xyz.ab Please make a bank transfer or sell loan parts to rectify this. Your investments could be cancelled if you do not resolve this matter. If you have made a bank transfer that has not yet been reconciled, please disregard this email. Kind regards, The Saving Stream Team"I thought this email rather abrupt and was obviously sent out before SS had even looked at any transfers made last night, perhaps savingstream you need to streamline your accounts dept and process bank transfers a bit quicker and take a few lessons in public relations

You were asked, quite politely, to disregard the email if your transfer had not yet been reconciled.
Why didn't you?

I have had the same. It usually takes 24 hours for SS to recognise that the money's in their account. Don't sweat it.

The e-mail is sent automatically the very next morning a deficit occurs. I find it a polite well-written e-mail, and appreciate that somtimes people need a little nudge to remind them to send payment.

Because if they hadn't reconciled the account they shouldn't have sent out the email - I don't expect any company to say I owe them money if they can't be bothered to check to see if I have already paid

If you are particularly offended you could always send your funds in beforehand (as required by all other P2P sites)

The policy and the email have never, IME, been exactly aligned. Apart from anything else it is not clear when the clock(s) start(ed) on either of them. For the OP .. if it bugs you, do what I do ... send them a polite email saying 'hold your horses, the cash is on the way'. That'll probably buy you another couple of days grace. 8>.

These type of reminders are commonplace from businesses, the reminder for your council tax is much more abrupt. ... although not half as bad as the reminders from TV licensing for people who have the audacity to decide to live their life without a television.

Yea, what is with THAT! I bought a house in the UK last year and the mail I found from TV licensing was shocking! I think I only got the SS mail once, no big deal.
