cooling_dude I was very sad to hear that you will no longer be producing your valuable due diligence threads. You had brought some badly needed organisation and structure to the previous rather random due diligence comments. You made my job a lot easier in choosing which loans to invest in. My personal P2P investment approach is built around the information available from these forums, and your contributions have been amongst the most valuable. If moderator concerns have become such a significant constraint on some of the most valuable postings on the forum, should we push for a private board like AC? Would that do enough to alleviate the moderator's fears?

Hi Guys It is with great regret that I have decided to cease adding my usual DD threads. It has become apparent over the last 24hrs, after some moderation carried out yesterday on my DD post, that I am now on thin ice with the MODs. The message provided was that if I break the rules again that I would be banned. I was upset about the harsh nature of the warning sent to me, and after further correspondence It was also noted that my activity was a burden on the moderation team. I would like it to be noted that I do not deliberately flout the rules; I add excessive moderation to all my DD threads and yesterday it seems that I slipped up. The reason I am going to stop my DD posts is that I feel that is where the biggest danger of me getting banned; I'm only human and if there is the slightest chance that I could get banned I would rather avoid it. I will also refrain from updating my previous DD threads (besides the loan status). I have added a note to my DD posts to indicate this, as some of the details will become dated very quickly. I will continue to maintain the Index, and take part in this excellent community  I apologise to the MOD team for being a burden Personally I think that is a crying shame and IMHO the moderators need to think twice because CD's DD was one of the most useful contributions to the forum and if the PC gone mad moderators prevent this most useful service one has to ask what is the point of having a forum at all !!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you CD for your contribution and as someone said 'Don't let the B-----ds get you down' !!! and its the MOD team that should be apologising to you.

Hopefully there is still time for the moderators to take action to repair relations with CD so that CD's Due Diligence can continue.

The moderators now need to justify their actions. Why threaten CD for an honest slip up? If they claim to be innocent, let's see their text so we can understand why they caused upset to the most prolific and helpful contributor.
This is not a case for the moderators to present a unified front. If one of them had overstepped then it's only right that any wrong be corrected.

This is a great loss for this community. I only come to this forum for the SS section, and the reason is the useful messages by people like Cooling Dude.

I've only been in SS 1 month. (I have however gone back and read all threads to 2014  ). My money feels less safe without CD's leadership of forum DD. (Such as tweaking PBL123 yesterday after it had been raining down from the 100 Day Gods). Perhaps C_D would consider a poll . Let's get SS and PIF to set up a members' only forum where CD and others can unleash their full brilliance; would you vote for that, I'm In! |

CD - your efforts have been invaluable on this forum, and if anyone "gives more than they take" it's undoubtedly your good self. I do hope that there is some way around this. Time to "mod the mods" ? |

I assume the lack of Mod comments on this stream means they are discussing this situation internally before responding which makes a lot of sense. I fully appreciate the effort the Mods put into managing this forum and understand they have to enforce the fine line between useful discussion and too much information opening the forum up to legal issues.
Saying that CD's DD is invaluable and the loss of it would greatly reduce the benefits we all gain from the forum. Fingers crossed a sensible solution can be arrived at and hopefully in time for the next SS loan go-live .
If not many thanks to CD for all his efforts to date, it has been truly appreciated.

That is real shame cooling_dude . Your posts saved us a lot of troubles and time. I'm not sure but you must be in top 5 "liked" on this board, maybe even top 1. I guess maybe we can put some pressure on savingstream to enable "private/pink" forum when CD can roam free and we avoid all the *******. A poll would be nice ;-) After the initial wave of all of us wanting to get there that will create few hours of work for SS then the workload should not be high. PS. And for the others who want to tag cooling_dude he is not @cooling_dude but "@ dnallov" (remove space) |
