This referendum is complete joke. It was only done because Cameron wanted to pacify his right wingers. When he did it, he clearly thought there was not a hope in hell the vote would be for Brexit. Well that looks like it could now backfire. MP's are elected to make the sensible decisions that the electorate are ill equipped/educated to do. MP's overwhelmingly support Remain. The referendum vote is NOT binding. MP's will still vote to Remain if it is a close call (40/60). BREXIT AINT HAPPENING!! Im sure Chilcott wont be happy he's been wasting his time investigating the desicion made by all those sensible well equiped educated MPs which hoi polloi opposed in their ignorance

When MP's on all sides of the spectrum (save a few that so clearly have ulterior motives) are so heavily on one side, a referendum is ridiculous. Do we really prefer Init Mate from Essex, or Mad Forit from Manchester to decide our future?

That seems to be an argument against democracy, the system where 2 idiots outvote a genius, come to think of it perhaps we need to improve the quality of the electorate, now how can we do that...

MP's are elected to make the sensible decisions that the electorate are ill equipped/educated to do. MP's overwhelmingly support Remain. I would agree that some of the electorate are ill equipped / educated to make decisions about their own situation, finance for example, let alone matters of state and you’re certainly correct in saying that “MP's are elected to make the sensible decisions” but to suggest that they always know better than the voter is a sneering and condescending comment typical of the vested interests and liberal elites supporting Remain.

"they" constitute 365 individuals, each democratically elected. Cumulatively they will always know better than the population on average - I don't think anyone seriously believes otherwise. If it sounds sneering and condescending it's probably just because you don't actually understand what I said.

BREAKING NEWS Corbyn resigns, position untenable, majority of genius Labour MPs didnt support him, only elected because of 'idiots' votes Other news MPS overwhelmingly vote for massive pay rise, electorate relieved they dont have to think about such complicated decisions

Or is 365 a glimpse of the future when we are ruled from Brussels and Westminster just rubber stamps decisions by the politburo?

The problem is that with an un-electable Labour and a Tory party that will remain in civil war regardless of the outcome of the referendum (not to mention showing itself up as being incompetent, disingenuous, opportunistic and unpleasant), just who the hell do you vote for?

Oh and of course those same wise MPs voted by an overwhelming majority to hold the referendum in the first place and previously voted (by a smaller majority) to hold Referenda in reponse to any further change to EU treaties.
