I avoided this loan as I judged 10% insufficient when I can get better with SS and elsewhere. However they filled the loan so good for them. They are in business to make money, they are not a charity. I'm not going to through my toys out the pram by withdrawing from other loans. I am definitely not going to throw my toys out of the pram. I am not in one. The point is that we lenders are taking the risk with our money and the current rate is not enough, at least for me. I understand that there are others whose appetite for risk is different than mine. I'm afraid my stomach will not digest it.

... I liquidated 1/3 of my Portfolio this morning with more to follow... IIRC, @magenta14 suggested not that long ago that he had a large portfolio. And it would appear that liquidating a goodly chunk of that hasn't even caused a blip on jonah's current loan availability tracker, which suggests that all the parts offered were snapped up rather quickly. This says something about the level of SS demand, I think.

I'm not going to through my toys out the pram by withdrawing from other loans. Neither am I, but it does remind me of what happened when Zopa reduced the rates they offered to their investors. A number reported being so upset that they paid Z's exit fee to get out of loans early. I never could understand that because the rate changes only affected new loans. If these investors were happy with their portfolio up to that point, why did they want to sell anything? My reaction was to stop investing at Z, and starting to withdraw money from the platform as it was returned by borrowers. That has continued for a number of years, and I'm nearly out completely now. If SS fail to offer loans I want to invest in, I'll take the same approach here. Unless, of course, my feeling about platform viability were to change. But ISTM that if SS can continue to fund loans at lower rates, that should help their viability rather than diminish it.

Just been paid back Yes,that was a shock Did anyone receive any notification about this from SS? I certainly didn't. And there's no update in the loan itself. If I hadn't been watching this forum, or checking on my account carefully, I wouldn't have known about it. I think we can take this as evidence of the sincerity of savingstream 's recent commitment to better communications! PS. Cancel most of the above. I've now received an email -- thank you, savingstream. There's still no update on the loan itself, but perhaps that will come eventually, so that anyone who looks at this loan in the future will be able to know what happened.

Does it provide any reason why the loan was cancelled? "We were experiencing delays with the resolving of an outstanding charge, hence the non-completion. The loan may be re-launched in future."

Seems to me like the borrower messed them about and pulled out at the last minute...
