I haven't bothered with auctions for months, but yesterday I decided to join in one. I couldn't get any live bid info at all and got increasing Bad Gateway messages. It ended up a complete farce with me refreshing the screen every few seconds. Is the complete lack of live info widespread, or have I got a specific problem? Live info doesn't work (when the auction activity is high). It never has. It probably never will. F5 is your only hope, and even that frequently tells lies (total accepted bids > auction size by dozens of £k, max allowed bid rate .2% above what is currently dropping out, etc. etc). This is very old news, as a quick search will reveal.

Well the 14:45 auction was as we expected, struggling, no 502s (though got hit later in the day), but the live beta system was useless and I ended up doing all kinds of stuff to find out where my bids were. The F5 key is a real clue and I'll try it next time, thanks.
Having been with Funding Circle for 5 weeks now I generally find their service pretty good, still on a learning curve and not having a enough server capacity is just silly in 2014 but I suspect they are being a bit tight with the IT budget and need to stretch it a bit.
I've also been with AssetzCircle a short time now and that really has some software problems, poor explanations how it works etc though I suspect the bad debt management is tight (it has to be to be a successful differentiator).
This forum is full of interesting input really helpful and the fact FC staff turn up here is a real comforter.

...Ummm I don't think so. it's AC which talks to us.
edit... despite my general grumptitude, I haven't had too bad a time of it on FC during the last ten days ... just a few of the well documented end of auction failures. I was OK on that big A+ this afternoon, though I did have my advance bid one notch lower than I needed.

Yep, turns out that was it, FC (or their servers) were blocking my IP address for some reason they have yet to explain to me Bit of a problem for those of us with static IP addresses, can't just waggle the router and get a new one! We are aware of the issues with the website this morning and are working on them as a priority. Apologies for the inconvenience this causes. Now, it's not really issues "this morning" -- it's "for the last few days, and sporadically any time it gets busy for months and months" -- promises of new hardware (and then of software optimisations/changes) are clearly not keeping up with us hammering on the server.

I can't just waggle the router either, I need my ISP to waggle their assignment (and THEN I waggle the router). Luckily I don't need a fixed IP for anything, so that works, but it'd be nice if FC told me what they did and why and how they can avoid doing it again. 8<.

Wow - FC page loading is really snappy this morning. Let's hope it lasts and that Live Updates are back.

Makes sense as AC has to talk to us to keep growing, the site design is pretty cranky and generally badly explained, while getting cash to it is just antiquated. I feel like I have to really want to win bids there to bother, while with FC the design is so good you just know they read a book on gamification before they designed it. I guess AC just never covered any such subject at tech school (and does it show). The thing is like a package for accountants who have infinite time and patience, I suspect they just lack the understanding of P2B and would rather be in B2B. I got the big A+ as well, I'm stripping my one bid into to two half bids so say 12.6 and 12.7 rather than just 12.7 so as to manage the final poor data as the auction counts down. While this ends up with me getting an average of 12.65 the difference between 12.6 and 12.7 over 5 years is only £3.24 on £400 (£724 plays £727.24 gross) it doesn't really make any difference and like you I'm getting the bid at the right level despite the servers running out of capacity.

Just clicked on 9352 in my watch list, expecting to be taken to the Loan Requests page as usual. It had come up as an early ender (was due to end on Tues 9/12). I had never clicked on it at all before. I had not bid on it. Yet I was taken to the loan page itself (I was interested to see what the closing max bid was so that I could tell whether it would be worth looking out for it on the SM - it was 12.4%). Now isn't this different behaviour? And isn't it what many of you have been asking for? A present from Father Christmas, perhaps.

You'll always get to the loan page from a link in your watchlist, ended or not, unless the listing has been completely deleted. Nothing in my stocking from Fairy Cakes yet.

They seem to get confused on ending dates/times on early-enders sometimes. So it'll probably become unavailable to non-bidders/owners as of the due auction end time.
