Um...
The auction just finished 7099 was a top score of 7.4% and £1,056 of winning loans, fair-doos.
How is 1056 divisible by a (£20) score?

It's not. Cannot see this one, but take the total amount requested and subtract 10% for the BBB and what you are left with is what is bid for - not necessarily a multiple of £20. I once had a £34 loan part and 34p cashback for it. I sold the loan part but could not get extra premium for its rarity.

(What's 'BBB'?)

British Business Bank (a p(r)oxy for your friendly government .. click on the '10% govt funded' for details) .. or Baloney Baffles Brains (apologies to EF Russell).
There will always be a 'dwarf loan part' at the bleeding edge of any auction not divisible by £20, even before it closes. I one had one for £12.80 IIRC .. and I didn't get extra for that either.

Eric Frank Russell (two Ls) .. Next of Kin, iirc (AKA 'The Space Willies', in an earlier incarnation?). Chuckle-worthy, but not quite as tightly written as 'Wasp'. 8>.

TIMER SHOWS 0:00;
BIDDING STILL GOES CRAZY FOR ANOTHER 30 SECONDS;
MY BIDS (10k safe, or so I thought) ARE PUSHED OUT!!!
Here's what I sent to FC. I'll post the response if I get one.
=================================
Dear FC,
Having just participated in bidding for 7166 I submitted 4 bids in the last couple of minutes and watched my bids safely nestled in place as the timer hit 0. Only to see all of my bids get pushed out.
A FULL 30 SECONDS AFTER THE TIMER DISPLAYED 0* THE BID LIST WAS SPINNING LIKE A FRUIT MACHINE.
I was excluded from a very particular opportunity due to this.
Explain please.
* I tried to bid but was not allowed.

At the end of an auction the 'live update' is slow to respond and can be somewhat behind in real time. FC advises, on the screen, to refresh to get the latest picture.
Once the timer hits zero the auction has ended, but you then see all the bids catching up.
It can be surprising just how much the Bots can bid in the last minute, so if you really want a loan part you might want to allow for this when selecting your bid.

I was watching 7166 and had a bit in it. When my 13.9% was knocked out and then my 13.8% swiftly after and with bids coming in so fast I bid at 13.5% with about a minute to run. Bidding 0.2% below the best rate then available (there was still around a £30k buffer) ensured I got some of it. The bids were still catching up almost a minute after the auction ended.
It's all good fun.

I forgot and went shopping!!! My 14% disappeared!! Mind you I did get four packs of Wyke Farms Vintage Cheddar at "half-price" minus 15%, = £5.30/kg ..... good price for a tasty cheese. Tesco (every £ helps............THEM!) now tell us the Pilgrim's Choice Extra Mature 350g is now £16/kg (before they offer "discounts"!!!).
I can't see them accepting 12.3% to replace their existing 9.3% just for the sake of an extra £100K. Reject and pop over to FK and get a loan at around 10% if FC won't do a deal to run a £100K auction payable concurrently with the old loan. Might get around 10.4% then!!

7166 and the up'n'coming 7170 both seem to be hit by the dearth of MBR bidders which help to bring the borrowers' rates down. Were they both affected by that tactical bidder who slams loads of £960s on at a very high rate? If so, what is FC going to do about what could be market manipulation (discussed in another thread).
17:01 Wot a surprise ...can't even refresh the page now....
