Kiva is a charity that provides micro-finance loans in the developing world. It works a little like P2P lending but with 0% interest for the lender (though some is charged by ONG intermediaries). I've heard of them, signed up but never got around to trying it out. Anyway - they are running a promotion for International Women's Day (8th March) with a free $25 trial for new members: www.kiva.org/investinherIf you'd heard of it but never got around to trying it out, now might be a good time. |

I've been using them for years, usually have 2-3 loans on the go, my money's been let out 10x over by now.

I noticed Kiva mentioned when I signed up to Bondmason but didn't look into it.
I absolutely buy into the idea of supporting people to help themselves, have just signed up and will endeavour to keep a proportion of my p2p total here (which if all goes to plan should keep growing).

I see you can start/join collective teams, should I start a P2P Forum group to collate our loans and demonstrate what we can achieve together?  It could be used to promote the cause here from time to time, although it could be an issue for those wishing to maintain anonymity!!!  |

If it's a problem for anyone there are plenty of profile tweaks to allow anonymity - lots of people show as merely "anonymous"

I admire your enthusiasm, tho I suspect most people after an initial flurry of interest end up only logging in again when they've had enough repayments to reinvest - well that's what I've been doing most of the last 8yrs anyway  Having said that it has been at the back of my mind for a while that I'd like to do more. |

My suggestion would be to change the name to something similar but clearly unconnected (eg. "Independent P2P Lenders") and share a new link.
