A double bid made again this morning from a single request (Bristol), no response to my request, website just timed out after a minute or so. The two bids were 34 seconds apart today. More annoyed this time as it meant I had no funds for the Isle of Wight loan. Pretty shoddy of the dev team to be honest. I thought the slowness was down to some pessimistic database locking but it seems there is no validation of bids at all if duplicates are slipping through. Apparently the developers did check after my 2 bids last week but can find no plausible explanation, and point out I'm the only one reporting double bids, (although ilmoro 's post above indicates he nearly made a double bid). This is the point where with multiple browser add-ins and anti-virus software that is apt to do its own thing, I have to start to wonder whether its something odd happening my end.

Is the FS site really slow for anyone else today? Taking an age to go between pages for me, but my internet connection is nouveau French and therefore of potentially questionable vintage.

Thanks, you're right, it's running normally - just tried in IE rather than Chrome and it's now fine <gallic shrug>

I think I might have had this before actually - i have 2 accounts and tended to use chrome for one and IE for another, which sometimes causes it to throw a wobbly. So the totally unfounded French-blaming will have to wait for another day.

Sometimes I still run them side by side (moving loans between accounts) and I have never had an issue. When I'm in Brittany I struggle to get any signal but as I found out last month if I'm up an Alp no problem! Generally I find net services in France better than a lot of the UK.

Yep, agree, especially on mobile data. I think the UK took some flack a while ago for their poor BB and 4G networks compared to most places. www.alphr.com/networking/1006562/broadband-in-the-uk-officially-sucks-lagging-behind-most-of-europe-and-south-east

Just for the pathological need to close this loop, I found out what the issue was - nothing to do with IE clashing with Chrome, total red herring. It was in fact my 'super auto refresh' chrome extension playing silly buggers. As soon as I turned it off, FS sprung to life on chrome. IE was obviously always fine as it didn't have the extension installed.
