If I come across internet trolling it often reminds me of an article by Buckels et al. 2014 "Trolls just want to have fun"
From the abstract:
".. studies revealed similar patterns of relations between trolling and the Dark Tetrad of personality: trolling correlated positively with sadism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism, using both enjoyment ratings and identity scores."
It's a worthwhile read.
It also says
"Enjoyment of other online activities, such as chatting and debating, was unrelated to sadism." which in the present context means wasting time on online forums and trolling them are two different shoes .. or is that two different pairs of shoes?

Its a little unbecoming surrounding the referee demanding a 'red card' for a fellow poster. Yes there is an argument for persistent fouling, but we are all grown ups and should be capable of dealing with it. The admin and moderators make the decisions, like it or not. Forming a Lynch mob and demanding the forum is altered to suit a group of posters in your own image is simply going to cause division and eventual decline. Sometimes you just have to live and let live. I would entirely agree if the Mods had not got involved in the very recent past. Following on with your choice of football analogy, FIFA are thinking about the introduction of 'sin bins', so maybe Mod intervention with a few 'sin binning's handed out might teach people a lesion, and also show where the line is between acceptable posting and 'trolling'. If I am considered over the line I would happily accept by 'sin bin'. As I stated my feelings are coloured by previous Mod action and comment.

Actually we do lots. What we don't generally do is requote stuff we object to, in order to add a line. That, of course, bypasses the 'block member' effect, unless everyone blocks the quoter as well. If you think someone is a troll, STOP FEEDING THEM.
Because someone objects to the handling of this loan, that doesn't make them a troll, just someone you/I don't, in this instance, happen to agree with.
GSV3MIaC: Absolutely spot on - concur totally.
Regards,
P.S. Yes - you do a awful lot voluntarily and allow others access to your considerable expertise - for which I for one am very grateful - thank you.

Thank you VI for that - you have gone up in my estimation immensely (whether you wanted to or not and just to be clear - that last bit was humour - not sarcasm (or at least my attempt at humour)). A fair and pragmatic statement - and given our history likely better than I either deserve or expected.

Its not the objecting to the loan that concerns me, its the constant posting for no real reason or substance, done in a overly polite way to disguise the purpose of their goading This creates a huge amount of "noise" making it very difficult to gauge any real information, which I thought was the point of this forum and bookmarking a thread It puts others off from sharing information to the wider group (I know this has happened already, not just me but others) and platforms probably just give up reading this garbage and contributing as they haven't the time to waste I realise I am adding to this "noise", which is probably exactly what the trolling wanted so I wont comment further. I guess I just expected more from the moderation

Cedar: I learned a long time ago you can't change the past - we can but learn from it. From my perspective the past is the past and cannot be revisited (except theoretically/hypothetically) - and as I said previously, I don't bear grudges or vendettas - life is too short.

It's quite clear you have a massive grudge against Moneything whether right or wrong only you know but it appears you wish to harm Moneything as a business with your comments which is where it affects me and other lenders on the platform that is where I object,

You must have very little confidence in MT if you think little old me posting facts (I repeat 'FACTS' - verified, evidenced and referenced (and as yet unchallenged) - some call it 'the truth')) on an obscure specialist BB (no offence intended to the constructors - it's just that I don't think many would claim it's a serious challenger to Facebook just yet?) is likely to cause the collapse of MT (in a perverse sort of way I feel quite honoured you clearly consider me such a force?)?
If you feel so insecure in your investments in MT and your research and DD don't give you adequate confidence then I suggest you sell up - and asap.
I've heard it said some wags would call it needing to 'grow a pair' - but not me - I intend to keep it 100% polite and civil here.
I strongly advise you to filter me - I really don't want to upset anybody unnecessarily.
Have a great day.

Having spent far too much time pondering what best describes someone who has to have the last word, I can now reveal a most credible candidate. Naturally, my tongue is firmly resident in cheek, just as the originator's when he made his observations here. And talking of last words, what's positioned at the end of this sentence will literally, on this topic, be my last!

[Original paragraph deleted] If you are genuinely wishing to divest yourself of all your MT holdings, are you not aware that your comments are counter-productive? By criticising MT and this loan in particular, you make it less likely that you will find a buyer for your part of this loan and any other MT loans you hold. Your actions are more characteristic of a trader who wishes to buy into an MT loan by depressing the market-price or panicing current loan holders into selling (something we may see more of after MT introduces variable pricing in the secondary market). [Edit: Paragraph which commented on poster's previous contributions was deleted as promised. The remaining paragraph was retained at request of another poster.]

Not wishing to add unduly to the detritus of this thread but rscal if you make your way back to the locutus post which you disparaged for not being original, you'll note that he enclosed the text between quote tags (the rounded box is the clue). Thus he was never claiming he was the author, merely that he thought it appropriate to reference the text in this thread. I couldn't possibly comment on whether I agreed with the sentiment for fear of agravating your RSI.
