If you refuse to add your hard-earned to the P2P Bonfire and are looking for an alternative home for some of your spondoolies, might I suggest you consider CityFALCON. ozboy I'm sure your friend is a nice guy and CityFALCON has all the best intentions, but does it really, seriously work ?The idea is nothing new, I've trialled many products before that promise to do this sort of thing, none of them worked. They just turn lots of noise into less noise. I fast came to the conclusion that this is not an area for flashy AI. It is an area for human curated content, and the few human curated services that are out there are worth the money. Given the expense in delivering this sort of technology (content licensing, development brains, infrastructure costs), let alone the amount of money required to deliver it consistently well to a high level of quality I hope you can appreciate my natural scepticism. The burn rate on this sort of tech project is horrific, and yet he's only after £200k on seedrs ? Don't get me wrong. I genuinely wish the guy and his company all the best. But in my case, once (or rather many times !) bitten, this time shy ! Yes it does, but don't ask me, ask Ruzbeh. And I was VERY careful with my choice of words " ............. might I suggest you consider" PS / EDIT: ....... does it really, seriously work ? - Well, BNP Paribas (among others) seem to think so!

Oh, I know about LC&F alright. Where there is any scope for interpretation, be sure the FCA will wash their hands of it. But I genuinely think this all goes beyond interpretation. We were deceived. That is obvious now. Information was withheld from us that clearly contradicted what we were told. That in not mis-advising. That is mis-selling. The subtle difference between these is the first is not necessarily false but leads to a false impression, whereas the second is false in itself.
Edit: And let us remember that the FCA authorised Lendy before Lendy had fully compensated lenders for the mis-selling that the FCA had identified as part of the authorisation process. Put bluntly, I do not trust the FCA. They are much too compromised. That is why there really needs to be a public inquiry for justice to be truly seen to be done.
It would be interesting to see their answer to this. They are accountable to Parliament and the Treasury, though the chances of them being called up to defend this, one can only hope. Yes, but "accountable" insofar as the FCA only have to offer explanations, which, if the explanations aren't good enough, Parliament and/or the Treasury can actually DO Football Association about it. Even if the FCA is directed to pay out Compensation/Other they can refuse to do so, such is the Nuclear Teflon & Invincible way they have been set up. Which, of course, explains the FCA's attitude and accompanying "work ethic" in a nutshell. .

If you refuse to add your hard-earned to the P2P Bonfire and are looking for an alternative home for some of your spondoolies, might I suggest you consider CityFALCON. They are currently going through a round of fundraising, are EIS qualified, and it’s a stonking product. I have invested in earlier rounds but sadly not this round because P2P (Collateral!) has cleaned me out. Two relevant websites to checkout and consider:- 1. CityFALCON is helping investors to do pre-investment due diligence and post-investment updates management. www.cityfalcon.com/blog/investments/how-startups-can-fool-angel-crowd-and-p2p-investors-2-raise-funding-2/
2. They are raising money to finish the product development and you can invest here - www.seedrs.com/cityfalcon4The Founder & Owner, Ruzbeh Bacha, is V willing to personally reply and answer any questions. DISCLOSURE: Ruzbeh has become a personal friend of mine. This is most definitely NOT investment advice, I am simply suggesting you might consider as part of a diversified portfolio, do your own Due Diligence. I thank you. OzBoy.

GOOD attitude jonno , and the RIGHT one. Do I perceive that perhaps Lenders on here are finally realising that they don't have to take this constant P2P merde, and you're all strapping on your metaphorical big gonads? I was wondering how long it would take, if ever. About time.

Thank you zlb. I have Googled until crosseyed, and flipped through countless Santander website pages, but "the statement" remains elusive. As I said, I think I'll have to acccept that I must have seen it on TSB, Nationwide or elsewhere, like most I'm a Rate Tart and have Bank Accounts coming out of my rear orifice. Self Assessment Tax time is always interesting round OzBoy's gaff. Thanks again.

Well that went well....I see it's officially a global crisis now and face-masks have sold out. The reason British are last expats left standing in Wuhan is because the FO are rubbish by the way. Having been caught up in a military-type crisis on foreign shores myself, I can confidently opine they are the least competent FO in the developed world. It will be interesting to see what happens in the markets tomorrow, anyway. Pay peanuts, get monkeys. Be honest, hands up how many of you supported Maggie wholeheartedly when she stuck the boot into the Civil Service in the 80s? The media certainly loved it and the private sector made no secret of despising the CS. It was predicted back then that the best brains would no longer head for a CS career as a direct result. We now reap the benefits of that policy. We were once renowned for having the best CS in the world. Many Civil Servants today are right on the breadline. Wages are seriously low for most, but who cares? They are not in a sexy job like nurses, police or fire service, so nobody gives a monkey's. An old article, but no wonder the brains went elsewhere... www.theguardian.com/public-leaders-network/2014/mar/05/civil-service-earn-half-private-sector"Civil service pay has been a problem for years – it is just not discussed much in public. But uncompetitive pay hit the spotlight last week when the Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced that civil service pay is too low to attract the right people for some of its most critical roles"We are veering right off topic here, but don't many Civil Servants accept lower pay to work in Government because of the VERY generous SUPER gold-plated Pension Scheme? Which sort of makes up a shortfall from the "low wages"?

Rev it up fellas (& gals), rev it up, this whole P2P merde storm has GOT to hit the mainstream media with a blitzkrieg.
A Blitzkrieg that annhiliates appropriate Platforms/Platform Directors, Borrowers, "Professional" Valuers, RICS, and our old friends the FCA.
They have aided and abetted, are 100% culpable, and MUST be exposed.
There NEEDS to be Prosecutions and jailings.
IMHO.
PS / EDIT: Weinstein got brought down, and so too can the crooks, fraudsters and "Pillars of Society" organisations who are supposed to be protecting our Consumer interests, but are ineffective & useless, too busy protecting their own interests.

Not quite the same thing, but fair enough, I knew my posting would stir it up. PS: And your example is "Home Grown", not "Imported"?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't a number of these diseases cross-over because humans have sex and/or interfere with animals?
IF so, it makes eminent sense to me to be, shall we say, more "circumspect" when dealing with countries where such practices are more likely to occur?
Political Correctness and it's Cousins are all well and good, but I don't want to die from them. Especially through no fault of my own.

One has to come to the conclusion that anything in a 30 miles radius of Liverpool merits bargepole status. Time and again this area has featured in loss-making investments. The financial community around there seem to work together against the interests of lenders. You could be correct the exception is that for buy to let investors there will be some bargains. Perhaps a separate management company set up by administrators could be set up to rent out property that suddenly is undervalued. Rents could be collected and distributed until regeneration promised by Boris kicks in at which time the properties could be sold. I think most investors would rather retain their interest in a property with small consistent return and final bigger return than accept a pittance now. No chance. That would be far too common sensible and obvious a decision for Administrators, and would mean they actually do have our best interests at heart and want to see us get absolutely maximum funds back. Much easier, for them, to get shot of Assets at any price, and then move on and gorge on the next distressed company. After all, they can now sell themselves as " P2P Insolvency, Administration & Receivership Experts", having known nothing about P2P before and now learned at our vast expense. Great isn't it.
