Disaster waiting to happen. And who in their right mind would buy in now anyway, at these prices?!!!

Disaster waiting to happen. And who in their right mind would buy in now anyway, at these prices?!!! Didn’t they say that at 1000? Or at 3000? Of course, it could crash tomorrow. Or 2 years from now. At this point it feels like a purely momentum investment. But what do I know?

Hi guys. Can anyone tell me where I can hold crypto currency to long term? At the moment the website I am using is only allowing a short sell option (Deal closes each night).
Would like to not have to keep fannying around buying every day.

Personally, my advice is to not invest what you cannot afford to lose.
I bought a small amount in May, a small amount of Ether, Ripple and Litecoin not much later.
My total investment (of my portfolio) at the time was 0.05% which is now worth 0.15%.
1) don't look at the headline coins. Bitcoin might hit $300k but conversely hit $6k. 2) Alt coins have a lot going for them. Ripple, IOTA, EOS would be better to look at with $100 each for example. 3) IF you insist on Ether/Litecoin/Bitcoin try Revolut. You do not hold the currency but you can buy at a good spread and not have to worry about storage/ theft.
It is either a massive bubble OR the beginning of a new market. Nobody knows and I don't claim to be an expert but I would ask you to review the alternatives and not follow the headlines.

It was actually IOTA and Ripple that I am looking to get into. I think the others are overly inflated and I was hoping to get in at the ground level of a boom currency.
The way I see it, if I gamble away £100 on each of those 2 currencies and one takes off, I am laughing. If neither of them take off I am £200 down. The whole point of what we do is risk taking.
The trouble is, the market place that I am currently using closes the position after a set amount of time. I don't want to miss the crucial time where the currency rockets (Although this is highly unlikely as even Bitcoin didn't rise overnight, but rather over a couple of months).
Maybe I am just being a bit paranoid and over thinking the rate of rise in a currency and should just stay with the platform I am investing with (No fees etc.)

I agree. At the moment this is just a toe dip and is not in line with some of the big rollers in the market place. However, I want to just make sure I understand how the platform works and not make a stupid mistake with a lot of money.
Maybe later I will make the $100k+ investment, but I just need to sell a couple of kids first!!

I was chatting with a friend on sat morn who has a profit of over $14k on ripple in just a few weeks, i advised him to cash in... (purely on a personal basis... i'm no IFA) his response was, No way... this is going to make me a fortune....He may well be right... I just hope he can stand the downturn if it happens.. it may be a quick one.

This is the problem with crypto currency, nobody knows what the hell is going to happen. The guys who took on Bitcoin 4 years ago were called idiots and told how the whole thing was going to blow up in their faces. If you look now, anyone who invested $250 4 years ago now has over $4m in profit.
As I said, £100 may not be a lot (NOW!!) but it may be in a few months/years. We just don't know. But, in the bigger scheme of things, it is a risk worth taking. I could lose £100 in half an hour on a property P2P loan.
In for a penny....................
