'cause builders were still allowed to work through the 18 months, and because there really are people who don't have kitchens in their houses or ones they know how to work.

adrianc I agree with the idea,but I wouldn't want to be in the queue in sainsburys when someone decides to use the 250 5p vouchers they'e been accumulating for months i'd have though one voucher per trip was better and slightly greener than one per bottle. It's almost like they've thought of that... You put your empty bottles in, you put beer crates in... it shows you on screen what has and hasn't been accepted and your running total, then when you've finished, you hit the "I've finished" button and get a single ticket... Like I said, this stuff's been bog standard in supermarkets across the continent for probably two decades. I just love the idea of loading upmy car and recycling at sainsburys or whereever in fact I will raid the recycling bins from the house opposite and take theirs too
