It seems that you are provided a numbered wristband to keep your place in the queue so that you can go for a slash, bite to eat, etc.........who knows, maybe you can even bugger off somewhere for a few hours kip?! How about bugger off home, and when you number is close to the front then sell the wrist band to somebody who wants to jump the queue It also seems that some enterprising soles (Ha Ha, never type in haste - souls, of course! ) are selling their wristbands on eBay after filing past for £300++?!!

Dunnit . Started 03.00 and in by 10.15 Thursday. Got the wristbands ...any takers? Very enjoyable. Also took in Winslow Homer@ the National Gallery where the toilets are lovely and the coffee is good. Home now .

How about bugger off home, and when you number is close to the front then sell the wrist band to somebody who wants to jump the queue I did wonder if people might offer people close to the front of the queue a 'donation' to give up their place. A few hundred might do it in exchange for queuing for 8 hours.

I'm pretty sure She's not in the box. Youngest has a friend in the Lifeguards who had done a two hour stint on the corner of the catafalque and who is of the same opinion.

There's something quite exquisite about that What3words address including "snail" and "ropes". There's been a few that I've thought "Yeh, that isn't random" - don't we all do it when giving W3W? Have a little look around and see what's best/funniest/most-apposite? Queue currently been closed to new entrants since quarter past one this morning.

Roughly 8000 people die in the UK every week. The weather is not especially unusual for the time of year so you can calculate how many people might die in the queue. Your point is? I rather suspect that the majority of those deaths are amongst people who are... unlikely... to be running towards the queue. Roughly half of those 8,000 would need to bring their hospital bed with them, for a start.

I was not impressed when on Radio Four's "Today" this morning some Royal "groupies" agreed that today's funeral would be the "Glastonbury Festival" of the events they had attended over the years - with the advantage of it being free.

Dragging her all the way out to Hyde Park Corner by hand is a drastic way to avoid having to pay the Congestion Charge for the hearse, isn't it?

It was a great spectacle. Even if you don't like the Monarchy, we can do a good show.

Ah but Charles is cutting back Apart from the fact that the Queen/King is exempt from most forms of taxation etc. Charge Megan for being in the second car and see how many toys get chucked at you

I was going to ask this question here as I can't believe just how much this event has taken over the news. Its absolutely relentless. I have a feeling if Russia flattened Coventry with a big strategic nuclear weapon (and we responded eye for an eye), there still wouldn't be as much coverage as this. Thankfully I found this survey which seems to indicate I'm not the only one - and that was four days ago ! news.yahoo.com/half-think-tv-coverage-queens-death-too-much-175828424.htmlPlease tell me there's nothing much happening tomorrow now she's finally been put to rest ?
