Mugs are popular things. Whilst I would a return to 6.9% in 5 year, I've kind of concluded that isn't going to happen. So aspiring to a mug is going to have to be the target instead.

Thanks, Kev. Got my tickets. Don't steal any mugs, or umbrellas.... Yesterday the Baristas (yes I know, extravagant, but he has a purpose) thought someone stole a chocolate brownie, and a full company witch hunt was started. Just warning ya. Don't do it....

Tempting fate, are you Kev? A purple mug in my pocket would look a bit obvious, but an umbrella? Now you're talking!!

Secondly a debate on why there aren't more women investors. I wouldn't have thought it a subject for a debate - more one for scientific investigation via statistical surveys. Do you allow accounts in joint names? (If not, I suspect that there's still a tendency for the husband rather than the wife to sign up for what is effectively a joint account.) Apart from that possibility, the documented gender pay/wealth gaps would be expected to have an effect. On the other hand the wealth gap closes for older, wealthier, people, who would be more likely to be lenders, which would counter that effect. www.templars.co.uk/new-research-reveals-a-17-gender-wealth-gap/

Secondly a debate on why there aren't more women investors. Sounds like this getting a bit too PC, does it really matter if there are less women investing in P2P to customers of RS, thought this would be for the likes of Jeremy Corbny and the equal opportunities commission.

Farcical isn't it and a sure sign that a company has begun to focus on things other than its business model. What next - a requirement to have more one legged black lesbians? Politics (and especially this divisive kind) should be left to politicians.

I personally think it is an interesting topic. It would be interesting to know how it compares to other investments, savings accounts, shares, spread betting etc. With absolutely no statistical justification for this claim I suspect a greater proportion of men in a marriage make the investment decisions and decide to put the riskier investments in their names.
For what it's worth of the people I have referred 1 has been a man and 3 female. Maybe men are just over-represented on this board?

Equality is important - what some people call "political correctness" is more accurately termed "basic respect for everybody regardless of irrelevances" - and if there's something about P2P or RS which is alienating a segment of the market, it's important to try to identify that and rectify it.

I disagree. How on earth is anyone being "alienated" or more correctly discriminated against. It is ludicrous. And if you really want to play the PC game, then why stop at just two genders. Are transexuals or gender neutral people not also being discriminated against. Why are they not part of this gendered discussion. Why is it about gender at all? What about racial profiling lenders to ensure a representative sample of ethnicities is investing? As you can see, this can go on forever and it is mostly pointless. RS does not discriminate or target particular social groups and it would be a better use of their time to discuss refining their business model for ALL lenders rather than just arbitrary subgroupings of lenders.
