I have AVG CloudCare, Windows 8.1 IE and no problems logging in. Could it be that the problem is with the free versions of AVG/Avast only?

....... if there are only a few viewings of the property and no offers being made then I don't really need an update to tell me that. MT will provide an update next week, it might say that a good offer was made, you never know, but i'd be happy if MT just said something like "the property is being marketed by estate agents, viewings are being booked, and we will let you all know as soon as we have an offer made"..... Hmmm, not sure that I agree with that. I have money invested in this loan and I want to be kept informed of progress - or lack of it - in recovering my investment.
And more generally, the last thing we need is encouragement to the platforms NOT to give updates, though in fairness to MT, they are among the better at doing so.

Mostly I agree with you, and thank you for trying to bring some harmony to this debate.
I particularly like your suggestion that a question received by AC outwith the usual Q&A channel, could benefit everyone if it (and its answer) was posted by AC staff on the AC platform for all investors to read.
The idea that AC delete only the part of a question which breaches their rules, and lets the rest of the question stand would IMO simply shift the argument from why the question was deleted to why PART of the question was deleted. Unfortunately.

From my reading of other threads on this board, some seem to be wary of investing in unprotected loans. Perversely, the fact that most of UB's loans are protected seems to have put some investors off from investing in unprotected loans, even where there is strong collateral and a low LTV.

Through my business I have dealt with similar problems twice. First time the problem was due to poor configuration of pipework and there was no resolution. Second time, it was the central heating pipes of the upstairs neighbour expanding and rubbing on the joists. Easily resolved.
If you have a good local councillor or MSP, it may be worth asking for their help. Or Shelter run an advice service.
Good luck!

How do you know the borrowers are highly inexperienced?
I bought an -admittedly small - part of this loan, and I've been investing for years

The first and largest of these defaulted loans falls due in just 10 days time. I'm becoming concerned at the lack of information. Nope. AIUI this is the second of these loans.
I had a substantial sum in the first, which COL repaid quickly after default, in full + all interest. It was handled swiftly and efficiently, and I am content that the same will happen with the remaining defaulted car loans.

Depends Mikk, on what you feel comfortable with.
I've put in mid-three figures, on the basis that the borrower has previously repaid a substantial loan, that this one has a low ltv and that we have recourse to the asset in a default.

A one-off 'mistake' is one thing, but a pattern of criminal behaviour/activity involving an entire family is something else.
Good luck to those who invest in this, but it won't be me!
